Survey The New England Foundation for the Arts has a short survey in hopes that people will co-create a new strategic plan with them.

LGBTQ+ Films The OUTshine Film Festival is currently accepting film entries. It is South Florida’s premiere showcase for LGBTQ+ films producing a large scale festival in Miami (April) and Fort Lauderdale (October). The 26th edition of OUTshine – Miami will take place from April 18 – 28, 2024. Only films completed after January 1, 2023 will be eligible, unless used a retrospective or classic. To be eligible for the festival, a film must NOT have had a theatrical run in South Florida. Learn more.

Playwrights Gloucester Stage is seeking full-length plays with themes concerning climate change for their Water’s Rising Festival of New Climate Action Plays. Although coastal climate change is at the top of mind here, we are open to all plays tackling any theme of climate action. Unproduced plays will take priority, but fully-produced work can also be submitted. 3 plays from the submitted pool will be selected by the Literary Team for the weekend of performances. Once selected, we will find a local director who shares a similar interest and aesthetic for the piece. Casting will be decided amongst the director, playwright, and GSC’s Artistic Director. Support for New England Musicians The New England Musicians Resource Fund offers grants, on a rolling basis, to musicians facing extraordinary financial hardships and who live in one of the six contiguous New England states. Applicants need to demonstrate that at least 50% of their income is from employment as a performing musician and/or music teacher in at least three calendar years since 2020. Grants average $1,000-$2,000, and grantees will also have access to additional resources. Learn more.

Pioneer Valley Artists Participate in a research study, “When Communities Thrive, Artists Thrive: A Cultural Plan Blueprint for the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission.” Presented by UMass Amherst student, Dan Deutsch, the blueprint will be a set of recommendations on cultural planning centered around the needs of individual artists and the creative community. He is inviting artists in Hampshire and Hampden counties  to share their ideas through this 10-15 minute survey.

Call to Artists Mosesian Arts in Watertown is currently accepting entries for the exhibition, Feminist Art: Contemporary Perspectives. Mosesian Arts accepts artworks of all media such as painting, printmaking, drawing, illustration, photography, 3D, mixed media, and video. The call is open to all artists who reflect on these themes regardless of gender as well as artists who do not identify with any gender. The work can be representational or conceptual in nature. Artist Residency Snow Farm is offering a free residency opportunity in April for experienced makers. Residents will enjoy private, creative work time, with free housing provided. In early spring, the campus will be quiet, with no workshops running, as the earth comes alive and the first greens return. Two artists will be in residence each week as the Snow Farm staff prepares to begin workshops in May. Learn more.

Cambridge Artists COVID Relief Grants Up To $15,000 For Creative Businesses. If you are a creative brick-and-mortar business, you can receive up to $15,000 in reimbursement for payroll, commercial rent/mortgage, equipment, or other costs. Artists and creatives with home-based businesses can receive up to $7,500 for payroll or operating/equipment costs. The City of Cambridge’s Small Business Operations Grant provides relief to small businesses and home-based businesses that were heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Applicants must show they were affected by the pandemic. Those with questions or in need of assistance can call 617-349-7223 or email smallbizgrants@cambridgema.gov. Artist Residency The Anderson Ranch Artists-in-Residence Program is currently accepting applications. This residency fosters creative, intellectual and professional growth for emerging and established visual artists. Residents have access to world-class facilities and studio time, free from everyday pressures. Residencies are offered in ceramics, new media, photography, furniture design, woodworking, painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture. A select group of the 32 residencies are fully funded fellowships awarded by the jury panel. Learn more.

Filmmakers Grant The New Voices Filmmaker Grant is currently accepting applications. This partnership between Netflix and NewFest supports emerging LGBTQ+ filmmakers. Four filmmakers with documentary, narrative, animated or episodic projects by and about the LGBTQ+ community will each receive a $25,000 grant. Learn more.

Call to Artists TILL Wave Gallery in Watertown is currently accepting entries for their spring call for art: Looking Up Looking Down. The show is open to all mediums. Solo and group work may be submitted. You may enter up to 3 pieces for consideration. To submit: Please email high resolution images of your artwork along with their title(s), dimensions, size, price, and medium, as well as an artist statement to tillartwave@tillinc.org. Learn more.

Medical Emergency Grants The Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies to artists in financial need* who are creating in the visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, and choreography. Only generative artists are eligible—artists creating their own, independent work, with recent and ongoing opportunities for the public to experience that work. Applications open February 13, 2024. The grant is for emergencies occurring August 1, 2023 and after. Applicants will be notified April 26, 2024. Learn more.

Call for Jewelry  The Society of Arts + Crafts is accepting entries for their exhibition, The Nature of Imperfection: Jewelry and Adornment, a show that embraces the concept of imperfections and inconsistencies in works of art. Makers are encouraged to submit examples offering a range of perspectives on this topic. Works that investigate aspects of the human condition, natural phenomena, and pattern disruptions, for example, merely are suggestions for a subject that has many points of entry. Learn more.

Call to Artists The Hopkington Center for the Arts has announced their nineteenth annual Arts in Bloom exhibition. Arts in Bloom is a competitive juried annual show open to all artists. This year’s juror is Claudia Fiks. Claudia will choose the artwork to be exhibited and select six outstanding works for awards. The six winning artists will receive cash prizes totaling over $1,000. Grants for Creative Individuals The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod’s (AFCC) is accepting applications for their Grants for Creative Individuals. The mission of the Grants for Creative Individuals is to equitably advance creativity throughout Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket with grants to individuals who demonstrate achievement of creative expression and commitment to their artistic/cultural practice.
