Artist in Residence Program The Mystic River Watershed Association (MyRWA) is extending a call for artists for our pilot 2025-2026 Mystic River Artist in Residence Program. This is a PAID 14 month opportunity–open to all artists. The program will take place between January 2025 and spring 2026, beginning with an exploratory phase during which the artist will be embedded in MyRWA’s organization to get to know our work, our watershed, and our communities. During the exploratory phase, artists will be paid up to $25,000. An additional $115,000 will be available for the implementation phase, which includes artist fees and supply costs. The artist will then work to implement the creative project within the watershed. Throughout the residency, MyRWA and the artist will work to involve the community in the creative process. National Leaders of Color Fellowship NEFA is excited to partner with the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF) and the other U.S. regional arts organizations on the National Leaders of Color Fellowship program. The National Leaders of Color Fellowship program (LoCF) is a leadership development experience curated by WESTAF in order to establish multicultural leadership in the creative and cultural sector. During this no cost eight-month fellowship, fellows receive access to specialists in the field, strategic learning objectives determined to deepen thought on anti-racist and culturally-oriented leadership practices, and national-level network and cohort building. Clark Art Institute Research and Academic Program Fellowships Scholars may propose topics that relate to the visual arts, their history, practice, theory, or interpretation. Smith College Mural Request For Qualifications (RFQ) Smith College is seeking an artist to work collaboratively with students to design a temporary mural for the main stairwell of its newest building, Kathleen McCartney Hall, which is currently under construction. The building will co-house the Wurtele Center for Leadership and the Lazarus Center for Career Development. The college is seeking an artist whose work will inspire the Smith community to think critically and expansively about leadership and careers/work, and who will incorporate inclusive practices in the project. Preferably digitally designed off-site and digitally printed on a wall covering substrate, the mural will be installed for 4-5 years. The artist honorarium for this project is $20,000. Learn more.

Musical Theater Awards The Richard Rodgers Awards were created and endowed in 1978 by composer and member Richard Rodgers (1902–1979) for the development of new works of musical theater. These awards support readings and productions of musicals by emerging composers and writers at nonprofit theaters in New York City. The winners are selected by a jury of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Call for Art: Community Sculpture Walk 2025-26 The Watertown Public Arts and Culture Committee (PACC) is excited to announce the 2025-26 season of the Community Sculpture Walk. The Community Sculpture Walk exhibits outdoor sculptures to enhance use of green space in Watertown, encourage public interaction with contemporary art, and create an annual exhibition opportunity for artists at all career stages working in a variety of mediums. Each year, four sculptures will be selected to be on loan for two years, so that each year four new sculptures will be on view. Emergency Grant Program for Visual Artists The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant program is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation. Each grant is given as one-time assistance for a specific emergency, examples of which are fire, flood, or emergency medical need. The program does not consider requests for dental work, chronic situations, capital improvements, or projects of any kind; nor can it consider situations resulting from general indebtedness or lack of employment. The maximum amount of this grant is $15,000; an award of $5,000 is typical. Learn more.
