Turn the Calendar With Artist Opportunities

Of Note: Choreography, Fiction/Creative Nonfiction, Painting Fellowships  The Mass Cultural Council is currently accepting fellowship applications from Massachusetts artists in the following categories:  Choreography, Fiction/Creative Nonfiction, and Painting. The Artist Fellowships are $15,000 each and Finalist awards are $1,500. Read the guidelines and apply.

Call to Boston Artists The City of Boston is now taking applications from experienced artists for a fourth round of residency awards, which foster alternative approaches as a way to make stronger connections between people and the programs and initiatives offered by government. The city is investing $250,000 in the Boston AIR program, as well $200,000 in grant-making programs for individual artists. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Learn more.

Call for Abstract Art The Limner Gallery in Hudson, NY, has announced a call for Abstract Artists for an annual exhibition of abstract art. The exhibition will be held at the Limner Gallery April 2 – 25, 2020. Entry is open to all artists working in any medium. Learn more.

Call for Art Gallery 263 in Cambridge, MA, has announced an upcoming national juried exhibition WILD.  They invite artists working in any media to submit work that considers their definition of ‘wild’ in a time of planetary change. Juried by Jane Winchell, the director of Peabody Essex Museum’s Dotty Brown Art & Nature Center in Salem, MA. Open to all US residents. All visual and performance media (2D, 3D, time-based) will be considered. Learn more.

Artist Residency Applications are currently being accepted for the Goetemann Artist Residency. The Goetemann Artist Residency at Rocky Neck Art Colony provides each of three visual artists and one environmental/installation artist with a four-week stay in a live-work studio with access to the rich cultural community of Gloucester. Selected artists demonstrate a high caliber of work, originality and seriousness of purpose, and all are expected to give opening and closing talks as a part of the program.. Learn more.

New England Dance Makers Apply to the Regional Dance Development Initiative (RDDI) to join 12 New England based choreographers and experience New England Now, a nine-month series of connected activities across the region designed to elevate your work inside of New England. Selected artists will receive $1,600 for their complete participation in New England Now as well as travel, housing, and meals. There is also a small stipend for travel and housing available for each cohort member to support bringing up to three additional performers to participate in the 2021 New England Now Platform. Call for Proposals ArtWeek applications are now available. Presented by Highland Street Foundation and produced by the Boch Center, ArtWeek is a state-wide creative festival taking place May 1-10, 2020. Learn more.
