Call for Artists The 5th Annual Naukabout Music Festival is seeking local artists to exhibit at the festival at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds in Cape Cod on August 11, 2012. There is a large artist space lined up with opportunities to showcase work on the main performance stage and set up a plein air studio and participate in a live auction during the event. Learn more. Published Writers The Drue Heinz Literature Prize awards $15,000 and publication by U. of Pittsburgh Press to a collection of short fiction. The prize is open to writers who have published a book of fiction or at least three short stories or novellas in national literary magazines/journals. Learn more.

Photographers The Davis Orton Gallery (Hudson, NY) is currently accepting submissions for their landscape exhibition. Images can range from backyards to backwoods. Learn more.

Artist Residency The Irish Museum of Modern Art is currently accepting applications for their Artists’ Residency Program. Successful applications will be scheduled to participate on the Residency Programme in 2013. Residencies range between two to six months in duration. Learn more.

Playwrights Future Ten, the annual ten-minute play festival produced by the alternative art space Future Tenant is now accepting entries. Future Ten 9 is scheduled to run at the art space, located at 819 Penn Avenue in the heart of Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, in November, 2012. Learn more Questions, contact Future Ten 9.

Video Art The Cologne International Videoart Festival is currently accepting single channel video entries for their 8th annual festival.  This year’s theme is the essential questions of human existence. The festival is looking for innovative and experimental approaches in dealing with contents and technology. Learn more.

Photographers The Kiernan Gallery (Lexington, VA) is currently accepting entries for their exhibition Still Life: The Art of Arrangement. Juror Jason Landry will select up to 30 images for display in the main gallery, and up to an additional 40 to be included in the online gallery. All images will be reproduced in an exhibition catalogue available for purchase. A Juror’s Choice and Director’s Choice will also be announced. All photographic media are encouraged. Learn more.

Chalk Artists The third annual Northampton Chalk Art Festival (September 14, 2012) is now accepting entries. Selected artists will be invited to work from 8am until 4pm, rendering drawings in chalk on 5’x5′ cement canvases located throughout downtown Northampton. All who participate receive a $100 stipend. In addition, cash prices of $250, $150 and $100 will be awarded by a panel of judges for the top three creations. Learn more. Questions, contact Penny Burke.
