Call for Artists Entries are now being accepted for SlowArt’s International Emerging Artists All Media Competition,in Hudson, N.Y. Public Media Art The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority and Boston Cyberarts are accepting 30-second videos, animations, or computer-generated works for display on the Marquee at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. The 80-foot-tall Marquee offers more than 3,000 square feet of display area on 7 screens, providing full-motion video capability and is viewed by more than 100,000 pedestrians and motorists daily. Massachusetts artists only. Submit the following to info@bostoncyberarts.org: jpeg images of proposed arrangement of content on screens, or storyboard layout in sketch format or other illustration: refer to Content Creation Guidelines; links to past moving image work (up to 3 samples, 1 minute each); samples must be online (You Tube and Vimeo are acceptable); brief description of proposed piece (not more than one page); resume/CV. Awards include a $500 honorarium.  Selection of work is based foremost upon artistic excellence. Artists will receive proper credit for their media art.

Choral Composer The Boston Choral Ensemble has announced the launch of its seventh annual Commission Competition. This competition aims to identify a talented composer and support the new work for chamber choir to be premiered by the Ensemble. The winning work will be rehearsed, prepared, and integrated into the Ensemble’s program during the 2014/15 concert season. The Ensemble is soliciting manuscripts for unaccompanied choral works under 10 minutes in length. The texts may be sacred or secular and in any language. The winner will receive a prize of $1,500.
