Snuggle Up with Artist Opportunities

Short Fiction Kore Press is accepting entries for their Short Fiction Award. A prize of $1,000 and publication by Kore Press is given annually for a short story by a female-identified writer. The winning story is published as a chapbook. Submit a story of 4,000 to 12,000 words. Learn more.

Poets The 2013 Rilke Prize, an annual award of a $10,000 award recognizing a book that demonstrates exceptional artistry and vision written by a mid-career poet and published in the preceding year is currently accepting applications. Entrants must have published at least two previous books of poetry and be U.S. citizens or legal resident aliens of the United States. Learn more.

Residency for Poets and Fiction Writers The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown offers Writing Fellowship residencies for poets and fiction writers. Applicants are required to submit a personal statement and eight copies of up to 15 pages of poetry or 35 pages of fiction (include a synopsis if submitting a novel). Learn more.

Poets Alice James Books is currently accepting entries for their Beatrice Hawley Award, a prize of $2,000 and publication by Alice James Books is given annually for a poetry collection by a poet residing in the United States. Learn more.

Photographers Entries are now beind accepted for the exhibition, Unconventional Inventions, displaying innovative, unusual, and alternative approaches to photography. The exhibition is a Photographic Resource Center satellite exhibition at Endicott College.  Learn more.

Photographers The Magenta Foundation is has announced call for photographers for the 9th Flash Forward, Emerging Photographers Competition. Applicants must be 34 years-of-age or under as of December 31, 2012. Learn more.

Visual Artist Residency The Tides Institute Museum of Art, Eastport, ME,is currently accepting applications from photographers, printmakers, and installation work for their StudioWorks Artist in Residency Program. Learn more.
