Free Professional Development Workshops Assets for Artists offers free professional development workshops to artists. Upcoming workshops include:
Beyond Arts Grants: Creative Solutions for Project Support with Yara Liceaga-Rojas, Thursdays, June 11 and 18, 2026, from 12:15-2:15PM.
After this introductory-level workshop, participants will better understand how they can define the work they are already doing as a fundable project, how to talk about that work with stakeholders, how to integrate care practices when developing a project, and tips for securing the necessary funding. Suitable for artists of all disciplines. 25 participants max.

Essentials of Digital Marketing with Francesca Olsen, Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 12:30-2:30PM. Francesca will cover the basics of digital marketing for artists, including the importance of branding, audience building, effective social media, SEO optimization and website best practices. Suitable for all artists who already have a basic understanding of social media.

Resource Mapping for Individual Artists with Ana Tinajero, Friday, June 26, 2026 from 12:30-2:30PM. Participants will begin by surfacing the resources already at their disposal in their larger personal networks and then outline the pathways to reach the resources not yet secured. Best suited for artists of all disciplines interested in or already engaging with their larger creative community. 30 participants max.

Radiant Thriving: Bold Writing for Boundless Artists with Doctora Xingona Diana Alvarez,  Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from 5:45-7:45PM. Participants will practice developing a radiant, bold, unapologetic writing voice that centers their values and identities. Artists will build individual language styles to align with their unique arts practice. Suitable for artists of all disciplines. 25 participants max.

Community Mural Training Program Common Wealth Murals is accepting applications for our 2026 Community Mural Training Program — a paid, hands-on training for artists who want to deepen their skills in community-engaged mural making. Participants will work alongside experienced muralists through every phase of the process, from preparing panels and facilitating community paint days to large-scale painting and permanent installation. The training will culminate in five public murals across Holyoke’s Puerto Rican Cultural District and Springfield. For questions, contact Talysha Rivera at info@commonwealthmurals.org.

Writers Emergency Fund PEN America’s U.S. Writers Aid Initiative provides emergency grants to U.S.-based fiction and nonfiction writers, poets, playwrights, translators, and journalists facing acute financial hardship. Eligible applicants must demonstrate professional literary credentials and show how one-time funding would meaningfully support recovery from a short-term emergency situation. Learn more.

Call to Artists The Cultural Center of Cape Cod is accepting entries for By the People for the People, a call for art celebrating the American lived experience. This exhibit explores the stories of common folk and everyday real life in the US — the authentic moments and shared narratives that define our American life. One piece will be selected to hang prominently in our gallery space for the month of July and the top 25 pieces will be displayed on their website. Entry Fee: $25.00. Learn more.

The Emerging Native Arts Grant is a cornerstone initiative of the Walker Youngbird Foundation, created to support early-career Native artists who are honoring tradition while boldly shaping the future of contemporary Indigenous art. Awarded twice annually, the $15,000 grant provides funding, mentorship, and a curated showcase to artists at a critical stage in their development—offering them the resources and visibility they need to take bold next steps in their creative journeys. Learn more.

Call to Artists This summer Airtight Garage, a new contemporary art space in Salem, MA, will activate the indoor space and garden with two to three pop-up events between mid July to mid August. Submit your ideas for performances, film screenings, workshops, or any other kind of pop-up that engages a public audience. Compensation generally includes a $100 honorarium and travel expenses but can also include material expenses for public workshops. Learn more.

South End Open Studios  Artist Registration is open for the 40th Annual South End Open Studios. Artists with or without studios in the South End are invited to participate in the 2026 South End Open Studios. Registration for Open Studios includes annual membership in the United South End Artists. Annual USEA Membership + Participation in the SEOS = $50. Learn more.

Media Projects Grants The National Endowment for the Humanities is currently accepting applications for Media Projects that supports the development, production, and distribution of radio programs, podcasts, documentary films, and documentary film series rooted in humanities scholarship. Mass Poetry, a founding member of the Poetry Coalition, is accepting applications for a paid Poetry Coalition Fellowship position. This position is 20 hours per week from September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. The total stipend is $20,000 plus $1,100 toward health care.

Call to Artists The Southeastern Massachusetts Agricultural Partnership (SEMAP) in partnership with The New Bedford Art Museum presents AgriCultural: A Biennial Exhibition, a juried exhibition of works investigating the complex and undertold stories of agriculture, farming and the contemporary stories held in the land. Works may be any medium. AgriCultural: A Biennial Exhibition is the inaugural exhibition in this series and is open to artists that reside in Massachusetts or Rhode Island. What stories are held by farmers, the land or our agriculture systems that only art and culture can tell? The intersection of agriculture, arts and culture in this region cannot be overstated (i.e. “agri-culture”). The complex work of farmers is not always easily seen and needs to be understood and appreciated by a much broader audience in order for our local farms to survive and thrive. Entry fee: $25.00. Craft Artists Equipment Grant The Center for Cultural Innovation: The Investing in Artists: Tools & Equipment program will award grants of $1,000–$5,000 to individual craft artists to purchase artistic tools and equipment that support their ability to make object-based work. This program is open to individual craft artists, folk and traditional artists, and craftspeople in the United States and its Territories, with geographic eligibility rotating over the 2024–2026 funding cycle. Call to Artists The New Hampshire Art Association invites photographers across New England to submit work for the Lotte Jacobi Juried Photography Exhibition, a juried show honoring the enduring legacy of Lotte Jacobi and her pivotal role in establishing photography as a respected fine art medium within NHAA. The exhibition will be held at NHAA’s Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery in Portsmouth, NH, July 29–August 30, 2026. Artists working in photographic mediums are invited to submit 1–3 pieces. All work must follow NHAA framing guidelines. The exhibition will be juried by Glen Schffer. Fee: NHAA Members: $20 for 1 submission, $25 for 2, $30 for 3; Non-Members: $40 for 1 submission, $45 for 2, $50 for 3. Learn more.

Poets Mass Poetry’s Poetry Coalition Fellow will offer program support on the 2027 Massachusetts Poetry Festival, a biennial festival held in Salem, Massachusetts. The Fellow will work closely with the Festival Director to coordinate the community proposal process, support programming and marketing, coordinate with festival venues and partners, and more. In addition, our Fellow will support Mass Poetry’s community programming and events at GrubStreet’s Center for Creative Writing in Boston’s Seaport, where Mass Poetry serves as an arts-partner-in-residence. Call for Art Treat Gallery is accepting entries for the exhibition NOT YET! They are inviting artists to submit original artwork exploring the theme “2026” and how we’re halfway through the year. Whether it be a reflection, prediction, question, warning, hope, memory, or vision connected to the months before or remaining. What has 2026 meant to you, and/or what remains? A cultural shift or milestone? A future imagined through abstraction, narrative, technology, environment, identity, or place? NOT YET! is intentionally open-ended, and all visual art mediums are welcome. They encourage artists to interpret this theme expansively and creatively. 8-12 artists will be featured in a curated, online exhibition of small-format works on their website and Artsy, and 3-6 artists will be invited to exhibit with them during Affordable Art Fair NY.
