BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and/or Storytellers with Disabilities The Documentary Development Initiative is a new partnership between The Gotham and HBO Documentary Films. The program is created for storytellers who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and/or storytellers with disabilities. The program’s intent is to provide resources to develop thought-provoking, character-driven contemporary ideas for documentary films and limited series. Up to 10 selected filmmakers will be given grants of $50,000 for research and creative development at an early stage. Learn more.

Artist Residency The Anita Wetzel Residency Grant is a new residency opportunity for mature artists (45 years old and up) to create new work and fully immerse themselves in the Women’s Studio Workshop (WSW’s) supportive environment in Rosendale, New York. This 4-6 week residency gives artists the gift of time to live and work away from the stresses of daily life. Artists may choose to work in any one or more of our studios: intaglio, letterpress, papermaking, screen printing, darkroom photography, or ceramics. WSW provides housing and studio space. The selected artist will receive a stipend of $350/week, up to $500 for materials used during the residency, and up to $250 toward travel within the continental U.S. Learn more.

Call to Artists, Scientists, Naturalists, Students, Art and Science Educators, and Science Communicators Join the ART+BIO Collaborative for Desert Field Studies, interactive artmaking, public engagement, and biology on the U.S.-Mexico Border. We will creatively explore the biodiversity of the Chihuahuan Desert in West Texas and New Mexico and integrate artmaking and science learning at various field sites and within the El Paso Community. Camp, hike, make art, and learn about the complex beauty and unique flora and fauna of Chihuahuan Desert. Call for Artists Waltham Mills Artists Association is accepting entries for our small works show, Creative Exchange, at the Lincoln Arts Project gallery in Waltham. In this exhibit the art will not be for sale, but all participating artists will trade and come home with new original art. The Creative Exchange is both an exhibit and an exchange as it allows artists to share their own work and, during the closing party, trade their piece with another artist from the show.
