Mass Cultural Council Grants for Creative Individuals Grants for Creative Individuals are unrestricted grants of $5,000 to Massachusetts artists, culture bearers, and creative practitioners to equitably advance creative expression throughout our diverse communities. Learn more.

Of Note: MASS Creative is hosting Creative Conversations: Advocacy Voices for a Stronger Creative Sector, an in-person and virtual series engaging with artists, creatives, cultural organizations, and changemakers in meaningful dialogue about the sector’s needs. Exhibition Proposals Application for two month solo exhibition for Jan – Feb 2025. Submit 6-15 figurative works relating to the theme of healing, transformation and/or resilience to be considered for a solo or duo show at Aplomb Contemporary Portrait Gallery juried by Andrew Fish. Learn more.

Call to Dance and Circus Artists Applications for the Next Steps for Boston Dance grants are now being accepted. Designed to support original, innovative, and risk-taking artistic ventures to nurture and grow the careers of choreographers, Next Steps for Boston Dance responds to the needs of dance artists and circus artists working in multiple genres to have the flexibility to push creative boundaries, work in dedicated spaces, and have mentorship and/or skill development opportunities. Emerging Artist of Color Fellowship The Movement Research Van Lier Emerging Artists of Color Fellowship provides year-long creative research support, rehearsal space, mentorship, performance and related opportunities designed to support the individualized creative process of movement-based artists. Artists must apply as individuals and are selected through an open application and panel process. Learn more.

Artist Educator Award The Outstanding Educator Award is given annually by the International Sculpture Center to honor inspiring, influential artists who have taught sculpture at institutions of higher learning for 15+ years and have sustained exemplary careers as professional artists. Recipients are valued by students and colleagues as mentors for future generations, are recognized nationally and internationally for their significant artistic production, and have made significant contributions to the field. The ISC invites you to recognize an educator that has made a difference in your artistic education and/or career. Show your appreciation for the individual who has shared their knowledge, experience and encouragement by nominating them for the 2025 Outstanding Educator Award. Learn more and nominate an educator.

Call to Artists Castles as Buildings, Metaphors and Systems of Power Virtual Artist Residency is a virtual residency from Kolaj magazine in which we will examine 20th century romantic notions of castles in popular media and theme parks. Artists will make artwork that expresses ideas that connect history and folklore to contemporary manifestations of power. Learn more.

Artist Residency Applications are currently being accepted for the Studios at MASS MoCA: June – December 2025 Residencies, North Adams. MASS MoCA’s Assets for Artists program and the Studios at MASS MoCA artist residency give artists, writers, and performers of any discipline a range of support services, including residencies on the MASS MoCA campus, financial and business workshops, one-on-one coaching, and other professional development tools to help them achieve greater career success and financial independence. Call to Artists The Artists’ Group of Charlestown Small Works Exhibition and Sale is a juried exhibition of small works 12″ or smaller in any direction (framing may extend to 16″). It is open to artists working in the following media: 2D (Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Photography), 3D (Sculpture, Ceramics, and Fiber Arts), are eligible. Any form of representation (realism, abstraction, and everything in between) are eligible. Exhibition Dates: December 7th & 8th (in conjunction with StoveFactory Open Studios) and 14th & 15th. Artist Residency Program The Sea Hag Restaurant in Cambridge invites New England-based artists working in two-dimensional media to apply for a unique opportunity to showcase their work in our dedicated art gallery space. This four-month residency will provide selected artists with the chance to display their artwork in a vibrant, high-traffic environment, offering exposure to a diverse audience of art enthusiasts and restaurant patrons alike. Submission Deadlines/Residency periods: November 15th, 2024 for January – April 2025 residency; March 15th, 2024 for May-August 2025 residency; July 15th, 2024 for September – December 2025 residency. Call for U.S. Performers, Artists, and Speakers for Expo 2025 Osaka Meridian International Center and the United States (U.S.) Department of State’s International Expositions Unit (Expo Unit) are seeking U.S. Cultural Performers and Expert Speakers to perform and/or speak at the USA Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. This program is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State and is implemented by Meridian International Center. All travel and lodging expenses will be covered by the program.
