Travel Stipends to Germany for New England Artists Studio 170 is offering artists of all disciplines, living and/or working in New England, the opportunity to apply for travel funding to Germany in 2024. Whether you are planning an artist residency or a collaborative project in Germany, you are invited to apply for a travel stipend to help cover the costs. Studio 170 will reimburse up to $1500 in travel costs including flights, room & board, visa, and necessary shipping costs. Artists must be based in New England and have a confirmed invitation to Germany for a residency or for a collaborative project with an artist and/or an organization. Although there is no required length of stay, the expectation is at least 10 days. Artists of all disciplines, including visual and multi-media art, film, theater, music, writing and dance, are invited to apply. Innovator in Residence Program The Library of Congress is seeking their next Innovator in Residence to start in September 2024! They will fund an individual up to $90,000 per year for a maximum of two years to do research with Library of Congress collections, produce a creative and transformative digital work for the American people, and serve as an ambassador for the Library. This is a mostly remote residency experience that can be designed around your schedule. You can review the program page for the full run-down of the opportunity. Grant for Crafts Artists Applications for CERF+’s Get Ready Grants for craft artists are now open. CERF+’s Get Ready Grants award up to $1000 to individual artists working in craft disciplines to conduct activities that will help safeguard their studios, protect their careers, plan their legacies, and prepare for emergencies. Call to Artists The Local Hand & HSS Exhibitions team are currently accepting entries for the exhibition Change. We’re accepting artworks of all media such as painting, printmaking, drawing, illustration, photography, 3D, mixed media, and video, but all 3D works must be lightweight and able to fit on a small shelf. The call is open to all artists who have worked through, instigated, and/or reflected on change. The work can be representational or conceptual in nature. Call for Art The Boston Figurative Art Center in Somerville, is accepting submissions for Kaleidoscope: Queer Visions, a queer community art initiative calling for submissions of visual art or workshop proposals. “Kaleidoscope: Queer Visions” is focused on asking and answering the questions, what does a queer, liberated, collective future look like? Los Angeles Black Film Festival The LA Black Film Festival is a bi-annual film festival that celebrates independent Black filmmakers and seeks to elevate Black voices and stories in the film community. They will be accepting submissions from black directors, writers, majority black crew (at least 50%) and/or black centered stories of any genre. They are an affiliate festival of the LA Film Festivals organization that has the dual emphasis of discovering great talent with the purpose of promoting their work to both the LA public and the entertainment industry, as well as showcasing the work of seasoned professionals and well known stars. Grants for Individual Artists on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket The Arts Foundation will provide grant funding to individual artists who live and work on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. These grants fall into two categories: building capabilities and community equity grants. Please note, you can only apply for one and not both.
