Creative Capital Online Learning Workshops

Of Note: Assets for Artists is offering free professional development workshops for Massachusetts-based creative entrepreneurs. Sarah Platanitis will teach the workshop Get Press Ready: PR for Artists on April 25 (in Lawrence) and May 2 (in North Adams). Jessica Burko teaches Finding your Message: Branding and Marketing for Visual Artists (in North Adams) on April 9 with select artists participating on April 10 as well. Workshops are free but space is limited. Learn more and apply.

Call for Artists The Dedham Square Artist Guild is currently accepting entries for their exhibition Casting Shadows (May 1, 2015 to June 30, 2015). Open to all artists, working in any medium, who work/reside in eastern Massachusetts. This show will be hosted in the lower gallery at the Dedham Community Theatre. Learn more.

Art Exploring Consumerism SIPMA Contemporary has issued a call to artists for I Live Here Now at The Cohen Gallery at the Goggleworks Center for the Arts in Reading, PA. Art exploring communitarianism, the notion of luxury, globalization and displacement, and other topics related to consumerism are encouraged to submit. All media encouraged. Goggleworks extends over a city block housing 4 galleries and artists residencies, so large scale installations are eligible. Show dates: May 8 – June 14, 2015. Learn more.

Call for Proposals The DownStreet Art Festival 2015 in North Adams is seeking proposals from artists and curators. Proposals can include interactive element, temporary outdoor installations, exhibitions that encourage participation or proposals for works-in-progress that will culminate in a performance or exhibition opening. Learn more.

Performing Artists Applications are now being accepted for the Somerville art festival ARTBEAT (held on the third weekend in July). Artists and festival goers converge on Davis Square, transforming it into one of the area’s largest and most innovative arts festivals. Learn more.

Call to Artists Danforth Art is now accepting submissions for their 2015 annual juried exhibitions. Emerging and established artists in all media are invited to submit work. Learn more.
Deadline: April 10, 2015

Emerging Playwrights The Dennis & Victoria Ross Foundation and OHenry Productions are encouraging talented playwrights who have not yet achieved commercial success to submit to the Emerging Playwrights Contest. A winning piece will be selected by representatives of DVRF and OHenry Productions and will receive a staged reading in New York City. There is no entry fee. Learn more.

Photographers Entries are now being accepted for EXPOSURE: the 19th Annual PRC Juried Exhibition (June 18-July 26, 2015). Juror: Kristen Gresh, Estrellita and Yousuf Karsh Assistant Curator of Photographs, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Current PRC Individual or Institutional Membership required (valid through July 31, 2015). Photographers may submit up to ten (10) images from a cohesive, exhibition-ready body of work, artist statement, and resume. Learn more to apply.

Public Art The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, a facility that will combine cancer treatment and cutting-edge research, is seeking artworks for three distinct sites. Total Budget: $342,000 – $362,000. Learn more.

Call for Art Entries are now being accepted by the Silvermine Arts Center for their 65th Annual Art of the Northeast Exhibition (Show Dates: June 6 – July 26, 2015). Open to all media. Learn more.

Call for Art The Zeitgeist Gallery in Beverly, MA, is currently accepting entries for their upcoming exhibition Love from the Earth – Minerals, Mushrooms & Plants. Learn more.

Female Artists The Nave Gallery in Somerville, MA, invites female artists who have been making work professionally or as a student for less than 10 years to submit their work to Reclamation, an exhibition that surveys the work of the emerging talent of women artists in New England. Learn more.
Deadline: August 1, 2015
