Readings by State-Awarded Writers and Poets

September 22, 2014 Leave a Comment

We are honored to announce the 2014 Commonwealth Reading Series, a series of reading events featuring Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellows/Finalists in the literary arts.

The readings will take place this October and November 2014 in venues throughout the Commonwealth, and they’ll feature awardees from our recent grants in Fiction/Creative Nonfiction and Poetry.

Massachusetts has a long, storied (so to speak) history of great literary artists living and working here, and many of them have been honored by our fellowships over the years. In fact, the first Artist Fellowships in Massachusetts were awarded in 1975, putting us on the cusp of 40 years of fellowships to artists. In honor of that milestone, select events in this series will include special guests from the program’s history.

All events are free and open to the public.
