Scholarships Available for Muralist Toolkit Training The Muralist Toolkit: Live, Saturday, September 19, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Springfield, MA, $100. Go beyond the basics with this one-day, hands-on intensive for artists ready to create stronger, more successful community mural projects. Whether you’re looking to streamline your project management, learn from experienced muralists, or get hands-on with the polytab mural process, you’ll leave with practical tools and real-world knowledge to bring straight into your own practice. The day includes a behind-the-scenes tour of Common Wealth Murals projects and a live demonstration of the polytab installation process, so you’ll walk away with techniques you can actually use. Taught by Greta McLain of GoodSpace Murals and Britt Ruhe of Common Wealth Murals, bringing over 150 completed mural projects and decades of leadership in community-engaged public art between them. AI and Performing Artists Survey Invite to participate in a survey which will study the impacts of AI on performing artists, conducted by SMU DataArts and Annie Dorsen as part of Artists Make Technology, a collaborative initiative anchored by Mozilla Foundation and the Doris Duke Foundation, in partnership with the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, with additional support from the Ford Foundation. The survey includes questions about the real-world impacts of generative AI (GenAI) on artists’ work, incomes, and creative futures. This study is not focused on student use of GenAI; it is not for AI developers who may be attempting to introduce new products to the performing arts sector; the study is not focused on the recording of performances or Gen AI use by performing arts managers or administrators.
