Sports Fiction and Essay Contest Two prizes of $1,000 each and publication on the Winning Writers website are given annually for a story and an essay on the theme of sports. Film Entries are now being accepted for the The Broad Humor Film Festival (September 5-7, 2014, Venice, CA) featuring funny films written and directed by women. Entries must either be written or directed by a woman, and the subject matter must include “a healthy dose of humor.” Seeking entries in the following categories: Feature Narrative and Documentary (over 60 minutes), Short Narrative and Documentary (under 60 minutes), Feature Screenplay (75-115 pages; all writers must be women), and Short Screenplay (under 35 pages; all writers must be women. Learn more. Fringe Festival Proposals The Double Take Fringe Festival in Greenfield has announced their request for proposals for October 17 and 18, 2014! They will select 8 plays that will be performed twice on each of two nights. Most of the venues provided are working facilities like restaurants and galleries. Learn more.
