Filmmaker for ACTivate Residency The Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) is looking for a filmmaker to collaborate with resident artists throughout their ACTivate Residencies. The first ACTivate Residency occurs on February 6–12, 2023, and the second on July 17–23, 2023. The filmmaker will be responsible for the filming and production of two 3–5 minute documentaries to document the work and highlight the impact of the ACTivate Residency. Learn more.

Traveling Fellowship for Emerging or Mid-Career Painters Newburyport Art (NAA) is hosting the application process for The Donald Jurney Traveling Fellowship. One grant of $7,500 will be awarded to an emerging or mid-career artist, working in a traditional, representational manner, for the purposes of traveling to paint or study in Europe. The Fellowship is intended to be a serious opportunity to paint and study, without constraint, in the rich cultural world of Europe. The goal is to enable an experience that is both broadening and enriching, informing the Fellow’s work and life for years to come. All funds are intended to defray costs of travel both to/from the chosen destination(s), as well as costs associated with lodging, meals, and art materials. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older by February 1, 2023. Applicants will be notified of the winner of the Fellowship in March 2023. The winner’s travel must be completed by February 28, 2024. Creative Forces Community Engagement Grants Applications Now Open for Creative Forces Community Engagement Grants. As part of its Creative Forces®: NEA Military Healing Arts Network, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) is pleased to announce that applications are now available for the Creative Forces Community Engagement Grant program. A partnership with Mid-America Arts Alliance, these grants support arts engagement projects that address the distinct experiences, challenges, and strengths of a broad military-connected population, including active duty service members, guardsmen, reservists, and veterans, as well as their families and caregivers.
