Consultant/Writer The UNESCO Institute for Statistics, the statistical branch of the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture, is looking for a consultant to lead the production (writing) of the new UNESCO Framework for Cultural Statistics — Conceptual Component. Essex County Artists ECCF’s Creative County Initiative (CCI) is pleased to expand the inclusivity of its grant making by funding new works or works in process in any artistic medium by artists who identify as ALAANA (African, Latine, Asian, Arab, Native American). CCI’s ALAANA Artist Grants will support the development of creative works or works in process by ALAANA artists, recognizing their historic and systemic exclusion from accessing resources to make creative work. National Dance Project Grants The New England Foundation for the Artist is accepting preliminary applications for the National Dance Project Production Grant (NDP). NDP Production Grants annually support the creation of 20 new dance projects and provides touring subsidies to the U.S. organizations who bring that project to their communities. New Puppet Plays The Jim Henson Foundation awards grants each year for the creation of innovative new works of contemporary puppet theater. There are three Artist Grants available: Workshop Grants ($3,000), Production Grants ($7,000), and Family Grants ($4,000). All Artist Grants are to be used towards puppetry. Drawing Exhibition The Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) has announced an open call to artists for their 27th Drawing Show, Yušká: Uncoil, curated by Erin Genia They are looking for artworks of any media that engages with drawing in its process, including two- and three-dimensional work, as well as sound, video, and installation. The works should represent your interpretation of Yušká: Uncoil in both conceptual or literal ways. Learn more.

Muralist The Shea Theater has a call for artists open now for a muralist to paint a 3000sf mural on the Shea Theater, 71 Avenue A, Turners Falls, MA. The Artist Fee for this mural is $15,000. All paint, supplies, boom lift, transportation, room and board will be provided. The Shea Theater Arts Center, a 330-seat performing arts center, is the hub of entertainment in the area. The selected artist will be expected to create a mural design based on input from a community listening session and information provided by the mural steering group. Learn more.

Artist Residency Applications are currently being accepted for the Fire Island Residency. The first residency in the United States exclusively for artists identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, intersex, two-spirit or queer, annually accepts applications for its prestigious and internationally recognized summer program. Now in its 12th season in the secluded beach community of Cherry Grove, NY, an historic LGBTQ settlement of Fire Island, emerging artists will share a live/work space for a four-week program marked by intimate studio visits with, and public lectures by, renowned leaders in contemporary art, scholarship, activism and curation.
