New Art Center’s Mass Cultural Council Artist Fellows and Finalists Photography Exhibition

Mass Cultural Council and The New Art Center (NAC) in Newton, MA will present the Mass Cultural Council Artist Fellows and Finalists Photography Exhibition, February 28-March 23, 2014 at the NAC, 61 Washington Park in Newton. The exhibition will showcase the Mass Cultural Council’s Artist Fellowships 2013 awardees – a selection of the Commonwealth’s most talented photographers.

The exhibition features 13 photographers: Rick Ashley (Marblehead), Dan Boardman (Somerville), Michael Cappabianca (Marshfield), Brian Rosa (Jamaica Plain), Rachel Loischild (Roslindale), Holly Lynton (Leverett), Greer Muldowney (Somerville), Johanna Warwick (Roxbury), Karl Baden (Cambridge), Justin Kimball (Florence), Lazaro Montano (Boston), Keiko Hiromi (Dorchester) and Stella Johnson (Watertown).

These distinguished photographers were selected from a pool of 372 applicants. The jurors included Ariel Shanberg (Executive Director, Center for Photography at Woodstock), Stephen DiRado (Photographer), Jessica May (Curator of Contemporary and Modern Art at the Portland Museum of Art, Portland, ME), Anne Havinga (Estrellita and Yousuf Karsh Senior Curator of Photographs, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston), and Suzanne Opton (Photographer).

Opening Reception: Friday, February 28, 6-8:30 pm
Artist Talk: Tuesday, March 4, 11am

New Art Center, 61 Washington Park, Newtonville, MA 02460. Gallery hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm; Saturday 1 – 5pm. The exhibition is free, open to the public and accessible to all.
