Above, Moving Company artists perform “common ground” at the International VSA Festival in Washington, D.C. The piece, performed this past June, was choreographed by Dawn Lane (Choreography Fellow ’10), who runs the Moving Company as Artistic Director of Community Access to the Arts (CATA). CATA, based in Great Barrington, nurtures and celebrates the creativity of people with disabilities through shared experiences in the arts. It’s a prestigious honor for the Moving Company, the only Massachusetts performing arts organization invited to participate in the international festival. Below, you can see Dawn and Sandy Newsman from CATA with VSA founder Jean Kennedy Smith.
