A reminder to Massachusetts artists in Choreography, Fiction/Creative Nonfiction, and Painting: you can apply for Artist Fellowships from Mass Cultural Council until the deadline of Monday, January 27, 2020, 11:59 PM Eastern time.
The Artist Fellowships are awarded to Massachusetts artists based on the excellence of their creative work. Artists who receive one of our $15,000 fellowship or $1,500 finalist awards can use the funds for supplies, travel, creative space costs, or any way that best serves them and their careers. The awards support artists as they continue making new work in the Commonwealth, which in turn makes the Commonwealth a better and more vibrant place to live.
The application forms are simple and free. Find guidelines, then apply via Mass Cultural Council’s online application system for Choreography and Fiction/Creative Nonfiction, or via the callforentry.org (CAFE) system for Painting.
If you’re a Massachusetts artist working in a different category than Choreography, Fiction/Creative Nonfiction, and Painting, don’t worry, because your time is coming. We’ll accept applications in Crafts, Dramatic Writing, Film & Video, Music Composition, Photography, and Sculpture/Installation/New Genres next year (the 2021 cycle). Then in 2022, we’ll be back to Choreography, Drawing & Printmaking, Fiction/Creative Nonfiction, Painting, Poetry, and Traditional Arts.
