Military Families Receive Free Admission This Summer at Participating Blue Star Museums 2026 Actively serving military members and their families may visit participating museums nationwide for free as part of the Blue Star Museums program, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families in collaboration with the Department of War. The program begins on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 16, 2026, and will continue through Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2026. Participating museums can be found in all 50 states, District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and include history, art, and children’s museums; historical sites; botanical gardens; zoos; aquariums; and more. Call to Artists Newburyport Art Association (NAA) invites artists across the United States to submit to the 2026 National Juried Show, juried by painter and printmaker James Stroud. Stroud received his degree from Yale School of Art, and founded Center Street Studio, a professional printmaking workshop. This show is un-themed. Call to Artists The New Hampshire Art Association is accepting entries from artists across New England for their exhibition On Paper. Submit works on or of paper, including drawing, painting on paper, folded paper, sculptural paper works, papier mache, watercolor, printmaking, cut paper, artist books, cyanotype, photogravure and other alternative photographic processes in which paper is a key component of the work. Digital archival pigment prints on photo paper will not be accepted. Fee: NHAA Members, $20 for 1 entry, $25 for two entries, $30 for three entries. Photographers EXPOSURE 2026, the Photographic Resource Center’s 30th Annual Members’ Juried Exhibition, is now accepting submissions. This is an open-theme call. Emergency Funding for Musicians The Musicians Foundation offers one-time grants of $500–$3,000 to US-based professional musicians facing financial hardship. Eligible musicians must have at least five years of professional work experience with supporting tax documentation. Eligible applicants typically receive assistance in as little as one or two weeks, with grant checks made out directly to billers. Learn more.

New England Filmmakers New England filmmakers are encouraged to apply to the LEF New England Flaherty Film Seminar Fellowship. The Flaherty Film Seminar takes place this year on October 8-11, 2026 in Marlboro, Vermont, near the Flaherty Farm where the seminar was first started by Robert and Frances Flaherty over 70 years ago. The seminar is a great opportunity for film artists to connect with programmers, scholars, and other filmmakers from around the globe. The LEF Fellowships provide funding for three New England-based documentary filmmakers to attend the Seminar in person. Learn more.
