Call for Art Celebrating the Boston Marathon “Stride by Stride” is a competitive juried show celebrating the Boston Marathon, for all artists. Selected juries will choose the artwork to be exhibited and select six outstanding works for awards. These artworks will be honored during the reception on April 12, 2024. Call for Artists The town of Lexington’s Lex250 Commission invites artists interested in creating a permanent, non-figurative sculpture guided by the vision and values identified by the Lex250 Monument Project Advisors. This is a two phased process, where artist/artists teams will first submit their qualifications, and then the selection panelist will select 3 –5 artists/artist teams to submit concepts for the Lex250 Monument. Temporary Public Art Project The Devens Enterprise Commission and MassDevelopment invite artists from Massachusetts to submit application materials for consideration for the award of a $15,000 grant to create a temporary public art installation, including a mural on pavement with an interactive element in an underutilized public recreational space in Devens, MA 01434. The awarded artist or artist team will conduct at least one community engagement session and interviews with key project interest groups to better inform their art design. The location is an area of approximately 2,000 square feet near active recreation fields, a playground, sledding hill, and a former roadway that is now open to the public for non-vehicular uses. Artist Residency MacDowell is an artist residency program located in the rural environment in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Artists-in-residence need to be comfortable with a degree of solitude and disconnection from the outside world. Studios are comfortably furnished with the artists’ needs in mind. A MacDowell Fellowship consists of exclusive use of a studio, accommodations, and three prepared meals a day for two to six weeks. There are no residency fees. Artists are responsible for materials and travel expenses: financial assistance is available to artists in residence based on demonstrated financial need. MacDowell encourages applications from artists representing the widest possible range of perspectives and demographics. Making It Public: A Free Workshop for Massachusetts Artists NEFA’s excited to continue to partner with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council’s (MAPC) Arts and Culture Department and Forecast Public Art (FPA) to co-host Making it Public in Massachusetts in 2024: a free five-week virtual workshop series that aims to foster a community of practice that is inspiring more vibrant and just public spaces and culture through public artmaking across Massachusetts. Call for Art The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, WI, invites submissions to its annual juried Birds in Art exhibition. Birds in Art has showcased the remarkable talents of more than 1,100 international artists since 1976 and is recognized globally as the exhibition setting the standard for avian art. Artists working in all mediums other than photography can submit up to two original artworks interpreting birds and related subject matter for jury consideration for Birds in Art 2024.
