Open to all visual media (2D, 3D, time based) & performers. Work must be created within the last 5 years and complete. Call had been extended to musicians and performance artists. Performers, apply with a link to your recorded Future Visions interpretation, or send example photos/audio and describe the happening. Boston Artist Residencies The Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture, Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF), and the Mayor’s Office of New Urban Mechanics invite artists to apply to Boston AIR (Boston Artists-in-Residence) to become one of ten artists-in-residence at the City of Boston. This second year of Boston AIR program expands the size of the artist cohort, increases the length of the residencies, and grounds each residency at Boston Centers for Youth & Families, through their community centers and core, citywide initiatives, such as the BCYF Streetworker Program, youth summer programs, and leadership development for young women. Each artist will be awarded a $22,500 stipend for a nine-month-long residency to develop and test ways that creative approaches can meaningfully impact the work of the public sector and society at large. Each artist will be paired with one of ten designated BCYF community centers and provided a studio space at that center. Learn more.

David Calicchio Emerging American Playwright Prize Norton J. “Sky” Cooper established the Emerging American Playwright Prize award at Marin Theatre Company in 2007 in honor of David Calicchio’s lifelong career as a playwright and in support of Marin Theatre Company’s commitment to the discovery and development of new and emerging American playwrights. The Calicchio Prize will be awarded annually to a professionally unproduced playwright for a new work that shows outstanding promise and a distinctive new voice for the American theatre. The play selected as the Calicchio Prize winner will receive 2 public staged readings at Marin Theatre Company as part of the theatre’s annual New Play Reading Series. The playwright will receive a $2,500 award, as well as travel and accommodations for the MTC rehearsal period (25 hours). Learn more.

Call to Greater Boston Artists The Revere Beach Arts Festival Committee is hosting a call-to-action for Greater Boston artists to submit applications to participate in the inaugural Revere Beach Arts Festival on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 11am – 5pm. along the shoreline of historic Revere Beach at the public plaza between the Markey Bridge and Wonderland Station. Artists will have a chance to compete for prizes, and judging for the multiple categories will be a collaborative effort between local art schools officials and members of the Revere Beach Arts Festival Committee. Artists will be required to submit an application that includes photos of their work in several categories including: jewelry, painting, photography, sculpture, glass work, wood working, ceramics, illustration, sidewalk chalk. Acceptance into the Revere Beach Arts Festival will be at the sole discretion of the Revere Beach Arts Festival Committee. Each artist will be subject to a small fee to exhibit and sell artwork. Artist Fellowships A Blade of Grass Fellowship (New York, NY) is currently accepting applications for one-year fellowship for individual artists and collectives. Fellowships pair project support of $20,000 with strategic support, field research tools, video documentation, and other tailored resources for socially engaged artists working nationwide.
