Artist Residency The Studios at MASS MoCA will only be able to accept applications for Summer/Fall 2022 from artists who qualify for one of their limited number of residency fellowships. Learn more to apply.

Of Note:  Western Ave Studios in Lowell, is having their first Open Studios event on January 8th, 12-5 pm.

Mass Cultural Council Artist Fellowships Artist Fellowships applications are now available. The Fellowships are direct grants to artists to recognize exceptional creative work. We are currently accepting application s in the following categories: Fiction/Creative Nonfiction, Painting, and Drawing & Printmaking. This year fellowships are $15,000 each and finalist awards are $5,000. Attend an optional, online info session on January 12, 2022, 11am (ET). Learn more about the fellowships.
Deadline: January 24, 2022

National Endowment for the Arts Translation Fellowships Grants of up to $25,000 each are given annually to translators of poetry and prose from any language into English. Applicants must have published, alone or in collaboration, at least 20 pages of literary translation in digital or print publications or at least one book or other volume of translation of at least 20 pages between January 1, 2007, and January 12, 2022. Emergency Funds for New England Musicians Founded in 2020 in response to the acute crisis created by the COVID-19 shutdown of live music, The New England Musicians Relief Fund (NEMRF) offers financial support for musicians experiencing extraordinary hardship. Learn more.

Poets A prize of $1,500, publication by New American Press, and 25 author copies is given annually for a poetry collection. Eduardo C. Corral will judge. Submit a manuscript of at least 48 pages. Learn more.

Call for Large Scale Outdoor Projects The Wormfarm Institute is currently accepting proposals from artist for commissioning up to 10 original ArtWorks for the Farm/Art DTour in Sauk County, WI. Artists are invited to propose site-responsive works for public view October 1-10, 2022. Learn more.
Deadline: February 15, 2022, 11:59 pm CST

    Can one artist apply to both fiction and creative nonfiction?

      Hi, thank you for your interest in the Artist Fellowships and for your question. We consider Fiction/Creative Nonfiction to be one discipline category, so an artist can only apply once in Fiction/Creative Nonfiction. An applicant could submit work samples including both fiction and nonfiction works, so long as the total pages is 20 pages or fewer.
