Local Cultural Council (LCC) Grants Information Session Thursday Sept. 5 at 6pm. This online session is for applicants to the Local Cultural Council Program. Boston Area Leader Training LeadBoston is accepting applicants for their 2025 class. Since 1991, LeadBoston has been connecting leaders across sectors to increase their knowledge about the inner workings of Boston, the challenges and opportunities faced by its residents, and their abilities to advance inclusion at their own workplaces and communities. Strong LeadBoston candidates have 15 or more years of professional work experience; are curious about challenges facing Greater Boston; want to explore inclusive leadership; and are looking to build partnerships across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Exhibition Opportunity for Artists With Disabilities In Boston and Worcester, Open Door Galleries showcase the work of emerging and established artists with disabilities to advance career opportunities, increase visibility and representation, and serve as platforms for the community to have important conversations about disability, identity, and culture. Call to Artists Per Scholas Greater Boston is looking for a muralist to brighten its campus space and capture the beauty of our mission, our learners and alumni, and the spirit of Greater Boston. The organization is hoping to work with a local or emerging artist whose background reflects the diversity of its learners. Maximum Budget: $10,000 all in, including labor and supplies. Per Scholas Greater Boston invites muralists to submit a short email confirming their availability during the timeline outlined and a link to their portfolio by Friday, September 13th. Boston-based Artists Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 Boston Artadia Awards. This opportunity is open to artists who have lived and worked within Bristol, Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, and Suffolk Counties for the past two years. Learn more.

Call to Artists Art Fluent invites artists worldwide to submit artwork to their online exhibit, STAND 2024. Over $1,200 in cash prizes. First Peoples Fund Native Performing Arts Production Grants The Native Performing Arts Production Grant (NPAP) supports Native-led performing arts productions that include multiple Native performers and artists. “Production” means the artist(s) are actively engaged in creating a live piece of work, either in person or virtual. Productions can include: theatrical plays, Indigenous fashion shows, touring for Native performance groups, performances in Native communities, and other forms of live performance that may not fit into conventional performance categories (such as festivals, concerts, and fairs). The grant amount is $30,000. Learn more.

Advocacy & Organizing Fellowship with MASSCreative The Advocacy & Organizing Fellowship is a year-long stipended leadership development cohort for artists, creative workers, and emerging cultural leaders to sharpen their community organizing capacity and grow their advocacy skills for a more equitable and inclusive creative sector. Call to Artists The Town of Clinton’s Community & Economic Office, in partnership with the New England Foundation for the Arts “Making it Public” program, invites experienced muralists to submit application materials for consideration of the awarding of a $12,000 grant to create a temporary public art installation in the form of a wall mural on a highly-prominent yet underutilized outdoor wall in Clinton, MA. Workshop The New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) Making It Public is an eleven week workshop that trains municipalities in practices to commission public art that are in alignment with the principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability in public procurement. At the end of the training, each municipality will apply the skills they’ve learned to release a Call for Temporary Public Art. Each participating municipality receives a $15,000 grant from NEFA to fund artists through their call. In addition to MIP for MA Municipalities, NEFA will also host Making it Public for MA Artists again in the Spring of 2025. Registration for the artist track will open December 2024. Learn more.

Composer Award The Ellis Beauregard Foundation, based in Rockland, Maine, is offering a $50,000.00 award to a virtuoso composer. The competition is open to composers who currently live in the United States, ages 18 and over. Composers may be at any stage of their careers. The award is a commission to compose a new orchestral work, 15 to 20 minutes in length, to be premiered by the Bangor Symphony Orchestra during their ’24-’25 season. Learn more.

Collective Imagination for Spatial Justice Grants The New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) Collective Imagination for Spatial Justice (CISJ) grants support teams of Massachusetts-based creatives and community members, to do the important work of imagining: what does public art that fosters positive social change look, sound, and feel like in your community? A new cohort of Collective Imagination Teams will be selected to participate in a six-month imagination journey, from January through June 2025. Each team will receive a $6,000 grant. Learn more.
