Ten-Minute Plays CulturalDC has announced the Source Festival 2014 open-call for 10-minute play submissions. The Festival runs from June 6-29, 2014 and, in addition to other programming, will produce 18 10-minute plays. Playwrights are asked to submit 10-minute plays related to one of the following themes: Mortality/Immortality; Revenge; Quests. Learn more.

Desert Writers The Ellen Meloy Fund Desert Writers Award is a prize of $3,000, given to a creative nonfiction writer who uses the desert landscape, ecosystem, geography, history, and/or experience as the foundation and inspiration for their literary project. Opera Grants for Female Composers OPERA America invites proposals for grants of up to $15,000 from female composers able to document their ability to compose theatrical works for the classically trained voice and instrumental ensemble. Grant for Mature American Painters The Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) announces the fourth annual Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Foundation Grant, which provides financial backing for mature American painters (you must be over 45, no young bucks.) and demonstrate financial need.
