Going Nuts for Artist Opportunities

Free grant information session This coming Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:00am at MIT, Creative Capital Foundation’s Kemi Ilesanmi, Director of Grants & Services at Creative Capital, will answer questions regarding the their upcoming grant rounds. Creative Capital supports artists creating adventurous and imaginative work in the performing and visual arts, film/video, innovative literature, and emerging fields. Digital Art and Photography The L.A. Center for Digital Art in currently accepting entries for a juried competition for digital art and photography. Entrants submit three JPEG files of original work. All styles of artwork and photography where digital processes of any kind were integral to the creation of the images are acceptable. The competition is international, open to all geographical locations. Questions: lacda@lacda.com

Choreographers The National Dance Project Production Grants fund the development of new dance work that will tour nationally. Grants support costs incurred through the artistic creation of the work. Production grant recipients automatically receive an NDP Touring Award which provides presenters with access to funding to support the presentation of the new work upon its completion.
Deadline: March 1, 2011

Temporary Public Art The Boston Redevelopment Authority, in coordination with the Boston Art Commission, is seeking proposals for temporary public artworks to be considered for an 18-month installation to celebrate the innovative and ecological spirit that will define Boston’s Innovation District. These artworks will serve to engage the public and act as gateways for the Boston Marine Industrial Park (BMIP) and indicators of the Innovation District and its creative community. There are three possible sites, artists can submit entries for one or more of the sites; however, final sitings will be determined by the selection committee. Learn more.

Call to Artists The Newton Free Library is currently seeking submissions of two dimensional, original works by local artists to be exhibited in their galleries for the January-June 2012 time period. Artists are invited to submit a packet for consideration by their art committee which will meet this spring. Learn more about their exhibition policies and requirements.
Deadline: May 13, 2011 at 12 noon.

Call to Artists The Attleboro Art Museum is now accepting submissions for Green – A National Juried Exhibition from July 6 – August 3, 2011 Open to all mediums and concepts that communicate your perception of green. . Six juror’s prizes of $100 each will be awarded. For more information, read the prospectus.
Deadline: May 14, 2011 (for CD entries). May 20 or 21, 10-3 PM (for hand-delivered works).
