Production or Post-Production Film Funding Through the Moving Image Fund, LEF Foundation supports the work of New England-based filmmakers across all phases of a project’s production. In November, LEF opened up the Letter of Inquiry (LOI) submission forms for projects in Production and Post-production to award grants of $15,000 and $25,000, respectively. To be eligible for Post-production funding, the project must have already been supported by LEF at a previous stage. You can learn more about how to apply here.

The Military Veterans Artist Network Symposium Join the Art Students League and Americans for the Arts on January 25, 2024 as we explore the legacy of and current opportunities for military veterans in the arts. This event will include virtual studio visits with veteran artists, advice from gallery and arts business owners, connections from arts organizations, and special guests. This symposium will provide insight on opportunities available for developing and using your artistic skills while highlighting the historic legacy of being a veteran artist. Exhibition Proposals The Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) is accepting exhibition proposals for the Mills Gallery. Their focus is on innovative solo shows created collaboratively between? one artist and one curator, presented? in the BCA Mills Gallery. In addition, curators and artists selected for upcoming projects will be provided with 10-12 weeks of studio space in BCA Artist Studios Building, to develop their project in close proximity to the gallery. $1,500 stipend for curator, and $1,500 stipend for artist. Artist Residency Applications are currently being accepted for the John Michael Kohler Arts Center’s 2025 Arts/Industry Residency. Arts/Industry artists-in-residence spend three months creating new work in the pottery or foundry in Kohler Co.’s factory in Kohler, Wisconsin. Artists receive materials, technical assistance, housing, and a stipend. Learn more.

Film Fellowship Boston-area directors who are not affiliated with Harvard are also encouraged to apply to the Harvard FSC-LEF Fellowship with a short or long-form nonfiction project that will be in production or post-production for the 2024–25 academic year. This opportunity, which is separate from the Moving Image Fund, includes a $10,000 grant, access to a pool of production and post-production equipment, and the ability to participate in the Harvard FSC community through work-in-progress screenings, workshops, and other activities. Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant Pollock-Krasner grants have enabled artists to create new work, purchase needed materials and pay for studio rent, as well as their personal expenses. Past recipients of Pollock-Krasner grants acknowledge their critical impact in allowing concentrated time for studio work, and in preparing for exhibitions and other professional opportunities such as accepting a residency.
