Call to Artists The Amherst Public Arts Commission is accepting submissions for the Visiting Artist Program at Amherst Town Hall. 3 month exhibitions, reception during Amherst ArtsWalk. Mail submission CD (10 jpgs of 2D artwork) to Amherst Public Arts Commission c/o Jones Library, 43 Amity St., Amherst, MA 01002 or hand deliver to the Manager’s Office, Jones Library APAC box. Muralists Easthampton City Arts+ (ECA+) invites artists to submit a proposal for a mural to be created on the wall at the corner of Union St. and Chapman Ave. in Easthampton, MA. Funds creating this mural have been awarded to ECA+ by the MCC. Questions: info@easthamptoncityarts.com or 413-527-8278.

Temporary Public Art Projects The Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) is accepting applications for Occupy 539, a unique platform for artists to engage with audience through public art projects that explore ways in which people congregate and linger in public spaces. Artists are invited to submit proposals for a temporary public art project that will be exhibited on the BCA Plaza campus July-October 2011. Artists from the Greater Boston area and New England are invited to apply for a $1,500 stipend to develop, produce, and install the public artwork. The stipend includes costs for shipping, construction, and additional support for installation. Proposals for a site-specific temporary artwork should reflect the artist’s concerns and simultaneously explore the many ways in which the flow of public traffic is transformed. Non-traditional media is welcome including video, audio, and performance. Learn more.

    Hi – Thank you so much for publishing this blog! It’s been the single most useful resource for finding opportunities for me, at this stage. Great work!

    Coincidentally, I was scouring the internet today, and saw that the Danforth Museum is taking entries for their juried show – until Friday. The fee’s a little high, but includes membership.
