Ken Field (Music Composition Finalist ’17) and David Harris (Music Composition Fellow ’15, ’05) will have a live, free, streaming concert as part of the Boiler House Jazz series hosted by the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation (5/7, 7:30 PM ET).
P. Carl (Fiction/Creative Nonfiction Fellow ’18) joins Michael Chabon, Chang-rae Lee, and Nell Painter for The Enactment of Identity, an online panel discussion hosted by the MacDowell Colony & The 92nd Street Y (5/6, 7 PM).
Lisa Gruenberg‘s (Fiction/Creative Nonfiction Fellow ’12) memoir My City of Dreams will be part of a virtual event hosted by the bioethics centers of Harvard Medical School and Colorado University (5/11, 5 PM, register).
Regina Hansen (Fiction/Creative Nonfiction Finalist ’98) publishes a debut young adult novel, The Coming Storm, from Atheneum Books for Young Readers (Simon and Schuster), in June 2021, with a virtual book launch at Porter Square Books (6/1, 7 PM). See a book trailer.
Janet Loren Hill (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Finalist ’19) has a solo exhibition, The Directed Eye, at the Arno Maris Gallery at Westfield State University.
Melinda Lopez (Dramatic Writing Fellow ’19, ’03) co-wrote and performs in Black Beans Project with Joel Perez, directed by Jamie Castañeda, available to stream from Huntington Theatre Company (5/11-5/30).
Anna VQ Ross (Poetry Fellow 18) received the 2020 Benjamin Saltman Poetry Award for her second book of poetry, Milk Teeth. The award includes $3,000, a book publication (in 2022), and a residency at PLAYA.
