Call to Artists The Town of Barnstable is currently accepting applications for artists and artisans interested in participating in the 2021 Hyannis HYARTS Artist Shanty season, May through October and November & December special events. Grants for Boston Artists The Opportunity Fund provides grants of up to $1,000 to support individual artists and local arts events planned by artists. The Opportunity Fund provides grants that support meaningful one-time opportunities for artists living in the City of Boston to further develop their careers, and supports artists who want to plan free arts-focused experiences and events throughout the City that provide increased affordable arts and cultural programming for Bostonians in their neighborhoods. Webinars with Arts Administrators Arts Administration Association New England is holding a series of “Sip and Chat” webinars with arts administrators from the region. The next discussion is December 17, 2020, 4 PM, featuring Luis Antonio Fraire, Managing Director, Sprinkler Factory; Birgit Straehle, Creative Consultrant, Sprinkler Factory/Associate Paintings Conservator, Worcester Art Museum; Tom Formicola, Executive Director, Arlington Center for the Arts; and David Conner, Community Engagement Director, Worcester Historical Museum.

Playwrights Company One Theatre’s PlayLab Circuit Volt Lab initiative is an incubator of new work for writers of varied experience levels and backgrounds. The Volt Lab provides mentorship opportunities for emerging playwrights to practice and enhance their craft while actively engaging with our mainstage programming. Learn more.

Poetry and Prose Translation Grants Applications are currently being accepted for the National Endowment for the Arts Translation Fellowships. Grants of up to $25,000 each are given annually to translators of poetry and prose from any language into English. No entry fee. Learn more.

Capacity-Building Grants for BIPOC Artists in Massachusetts With funding from the City of Boston, at least 10 Boston artists will be selected to join Assets for Artists’ Capacity-Building Program, which provides creative practitioners and entrepreneurs with free financial and business webinars, 1-on-1 coaching, and a $1,000 working capital grant. In 2021, this opportunity will focus specifically on serving Boston’s artists of color. Learn more.

Call for Artists The Hopkinton Center for the Arts seeks artwork for The Big Tent HCA Members Show, an in-person and online exhibit starting February 5, 2021. Members young and old are invited to submit artwork. One or two works will be chosen for this show, depending on space considerations. Learn more.

Documentary Filmmakers The LEF Moving Image Fund is now accepting submissions of feature-length (40+ minutes) documentary films in Production or Post-production from New England filmmakers. Post-production funding is open only to projects that have received LEF funding at an earlier stage. Production funding is open to all eligible applicants in New England. Learn more.

Call to Artists The Town of Sandwich, via the Glass Town Cultural District, invites artists or artist teams to apply to create a temporary (3 year) public artwork to complement the historic downtown and Sandwich Glass Town Cultural District. The Glass Town Cultural District is a two mile, walkable designation in and around the historic downtown district of Sandwich, Massachusetts. The sculpture will be situated at the intersection of two busy streets, on the grassy area of the adjacent historic Dexter Grist Mill. The installation is intended to be welcoming to the community, while also having a civic presence. The sculpture will be constructed of durable materials, but incorporating a prominent glass element, in part or in its entirety. The landscaped area at the intersection of Main Street and Rte. 130 will connect the neighborhood to the historic district and ideally be interactive and have a solar lighting component. Call to Artists The Cultural Center of Cape Cod invites artists from all over Cape Cod to submit work for out online exhibition, Yarmouth MA to Yarmouth UK. All winners will be displayed in their online gallery. In collaboration with United Kingdom’s Great Yarmouth Guild of Artists & Craftsman, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod both proudly present Yarmouth MA to Yarmouth UK! This will be a celebration of our beloved community of Cape Cod exhibited side by side with the seaside community of Yarmouth, UK. Works will reflect the Cape Cod landscape, seascape, people, and its places through your perspective. Open to all fine art mediums except photography and film. Learn more.
