Call for Proposals The Emily Dickinson Museum is now accepting proposals for audience-centered workshops, panel discussions, and participatory programs for the The Amherst Poetry Festival (Sep 19-21, 2019). Especially encouraged are proposals from groups of poets, proposals that engage young attendees, that appeal to people who are new to poetry, and that involve hands-on participation. Call to Artists Post Office Gallery in North Truro, MA invites visual artists to participate in Chaos and Order, their second Summer 2019 Open Call Juried Exhibit. Call for Art The Screen@SAB is accepting submissions for SCREEN2019: CLIMATES, a month-long moving image exhibition held in the Studio Arts Building at UMASS Amherst, Fall 2019. “We live in a time and place where extreme and polarized “Climates” are the new norm. We seek work that speaks to, resists, deconstructs, makes sense of, exposes, explores, re-imagines, and questions current, past, and future Climates; be they environmental, political, fantastical, ideological, spiritual or philosophical.” Work should have been completed within the last three years. With sound or silent. Shorter works preferred – up to 10 minutes. Up to two submissions per person. The Screen@SAB is a 55″ flat screen monitor installed in the atrium commons area of the Studio Arts Building. Submission is free. Accepted works must be in mp4 format. Of Note: The Boston Center for the Arts 2019 Public Artist Resident Shaka Dendy is organizing a series of free public Youth Basketball Drives on the BCA Public Plaza and Black Market in Dudley Square, where kids can sign up to trade in a used basketball for a brand new one. The used basketballs will find new life as part of Shaka’s large-scale public sculpture, titled Gestures of Incompleteness, unveiling on BCA’s Public Plaza on Thursday, August 8 | 6–9 pm.
Female Playwrights The Henley Rose Playwright Competition for Women was founded by Yellow Rose Productions, with permission of Beth Henley, to encourage and recognize the new works of female playwrights.
