Of Note: Assets for Artists is offering a series of free webinar workshops for artists. Webinars with Arts Administrators Arts Administration Association New England is holding a series of “Sip and Chat” webinars with arts administrators from the region. The next discussions are June 9, 4 PM, featuring Nick Adams (Executive Director, Cantata Singers), Madeleine Stekzinsky (Co-founder/Executive Director, ZUMIX), and Jim Wooster (Executive Director, Passim Boston); and June 11, 2020, 4 PM featuring Lee Mikeska Gardner (Artistic Director, The Nora Theatre Company), Julianne Boyd (Artistic Director, Barrington Stage Company), and Kate Snodgrass (Artistic Director, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre).

Artists and Creatives of Color in Boston Radical Imagination for Racial Justice is a new regranting program made possible by the Surdna Foundation to Massachusetts College of Art and Design and the City of Boston in the amount of $1.2 million. This regranting initiative will span three years and supports artists and creatives of color who live and/or work in Boston, by distributing funds to those seeking to advance racial justice through collaborative projects in their communities. Artists, creatives, or cultural organizers who identify as ALAANA+ (African, Latinx, Asian, Arab or Native American), who are at least 14 years of age and live or work in Boston are invited to apply. Deadline of the First Phase Application: June 8, 2020

Documentary Filmmakers The Documentary Impact Producer Relief Fund will provide grants of up to $4,000 to help alleviate the acute hardships faced by freelance impact producers working anywhere in the world in this time of economic uncertainty. This fund is being administrated by Doc Society with support from Perspective Fund. The first funding round will be open June 3rd – June 8th. Learn more.

Filmmakers The Vilcek Foundation currently seeks young foreign-born applicants for the 2021 Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in Filmmaking. Three winners will each receive a $50,000 unrestricted cash prize and a comprehensive promotional campaign to honor their career and achievements. Learn more.
Deadline: June 10, 2020 (5pm EST)

Fiction Writers New American Press is offering a prize of $1,500 and publication for a book of fiction. Nick White will judge. Submit a collection of short stories or flash fiction, a novella, or a novel of at least 100 pages. Learn more.

Artist Relief To support artists during the COVID-19 crisis, a coalition of national arts grantmakers have come together to create an emergency initiative to offer financial and informational resources to artists across the United States. Artist Relief – Cycle III will distribute $5,000 grants to artists facing dire financial emergencies due to COVID-19; serve as an ongoing informational resource; and co-launch the COVID-19 Impact Survey for Artists and Creative Workers, designed by Americans for the Arts, to better identify and address the needs of artists. Call to Artists A group exhibition curated by artist and guest curator, Huguette Despault May. Presented online at www.theartistessentials.com and an innovative virtual exhibition platform. This exhibition is free to apply. Work can be made available for sale. Exhibition will include individual and installation images as well as information about each artist. Exhibition will be vigorously promoted. Learn more.

Photographers Sohn Fine Art is currently accepting photography submissions for their 8th juried exhibition, Perspective. This open call for photography will result in an exhibition of chosen work at Sohn Fine Art. The gallery is located in the Berkshires in Lenox, MA. Any genre of photography can be submitted and all photographic mediums are eligible for submission. This exhibition will be curated and judged by Sohn Fine Art’s Director, Cassandra Sohn. Learn more.

Photographers The Cultural Center of Cape Cod invites photographers to explore their relationship with nature, as well as our collective human impact on the natural world for an exhibit in their online gallery. No matter the season or the landscape, all genres are welcome: urban, natural, industrial, abstract. Any and all methods of capture and process are welcome. Learn more.

New England Monologues New England playwrights can submit monologues for the StageSource New England Monologues Project. The goal is to increase exposure for New England playwrights as well as provide actors with fresh and vibrant material for auditions. Learn more.

Film Festival The Milwaukee Film Festival is accepting submissions of completed short and feature-length films in a variety of genres for its Fall festival. No fee. Learn more.
Deadline: July 1, 2020

Of Note During the COVID-19 crisis, the website Practical Advice for Artists is offering free professional development courses for artists.
