Clean and Tidy Artist Opportunities

Poets The Jane Kenyon Poetry Prize of $1,000 is now accepting submissions. All submissions must be original, unpublished work. Read more.

Poetry Chapbook Competition The Center for Book Arts invites submissions to its annual Poetry Chapbook Competition. The winning manuscript will be chosen in May 2012 and will be awarded with the publication of a beautifully designed, letterpress-printed, limited-edition chapbook printed and bound by artists at the Center for Book Arts. The edition is limited to 100 signed and numbered copies, ten of which are reserved for the author and the remainder of which will be offered for sale through the Center. The winning poet will also receive a cash award of $500, and a $500 honorarium for a reading, to be held at the Center in the fall of 2012, as well as an exclusive opportunity to stay at the Millay Colony for the Arts in Austerlitz, New York as one of their Winter Shakers. This year’s judges will be Phillis Levin & Sharon Dolin. Read more.

Visual Artist Grants The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation has an Individual Support Grant program for painters, sculptors, and printmakers who have been creating mature art for at least 20 years and who are in current financial need. Grants are available through an open application process. Application forms are available by mail only. Learn more.

Call for Artists Heritage Museums and Gardens are looking for submissions from contemporary artists to create a “fanciful but working garden gate”. Work will be for sale. For guidelines and application form, contact Jan Crocker at JCrocker@heritagemuseums.org or 508-888-3300 x102.
