Greater Lowell Artists Wanted for the Arts Elevate Training Program The Greater Lowell Community Foundation invites greater Lowell artists to join Arts Elevate’s Artist Training Program, a comprehensive training experience that prepares artists to lead embedded residencies with nonprofits serving youth, veterans, and seniors across Greater Lowell. The full-day, immersive training covers: the philosophy and research behind arts-based wellness interventions; deep dive into the create-connect-catalyze framework for youth outcomes; flow state optimization techniques for creative programming; practical insights from current Arts Elevate resident artists; strategies for effective nonprofit partnership. They welcome artists of all disciplines—visual arts, music, dance, theater, film, spoken word, poetry, literary arts, multimedia, craft, and folk/traditional arts. Priority consideration given to artists who live or work in GLCF’s 21-community region and those from underrepresented backgrounds. Saturday, May 23, 2026, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Lowell, MA (venue details upon acceptance). Cost: FREE—all materials and lunch provided. You must be able to commit to the full day. Space is limited to 15-20 artists to ensure a rich, collaborative learning experience. Completing this training creates a pathway to future embedded artist opportunities with Arts Elevate partner organizations. Call for Artist The Town of Ashland is seeking an artist or artist team to design and install a shade canopy at the Corner Spot pocket park. This project is intended to activate the park as a welcoming community space, with a focus on supporting residents who are most affected by rising temperatures and the impacts of climate change. Open to any resident of the United States of America aged 18 years or older. Up to $20,000 award. Learn more about the Ashland shade canopy call.

Art Writers The Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant supports emerging and established writers who write about contemporary visual art. Ranging from $15,000 to $50,000 in four categories—articles, books, short-form writing, and translation—the grants support projects addressing both general and specialized art audiences, from short reviews for magazines and newspapers to in-depth scholarly studies. Call to Artists MassHousing is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced facilitators to provide educational and engaging on-site programming to residents of TAP enrolled affordable housing developments located throughout Massachusetts (see the catalog and all RFP’s here). The application and guidelines are now available to become a TAP vendor in the TAP Resident Engagement Programs. Call to Artists Newburyport Art Association (NAA) invites artists to submit to the 2026 National Juried Show, juried by painter and printmaker James Stroud. Stroud received his degree from Yale School of Art, and founded Center Street Studio, a professional printmaking workshop. This show is un-themed. Artists may enter a maximum of 3 pieces. $35 per submission for non-members, $20 per submission for members. Cash prizes will be awarded. Learn more.

Call to Artists Artists in all media are invited to submit work for We hold these truths…American Stories, a juried exhibit at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck, Gloucester, MA, July 3-August 9, 2026. Seeking artwork in a wide range of approaches, portrait to abstraction, to present visual narratives of what it is to be American now, in all its voices, rich with complexity. They welcome works that critique, affirm or counter our dominant national narratives. American Stories coincides with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, with hopes of fostering understanding and appreciation of the multiplicity of American experience and giving visitors a chance to see themselves reflected in it. Entry Fee: Up to 5 submissions, $25 for RNAC members, $35 for non-members. Watercolorists The New England Watercolor Society (NEWS) is accepting entries for their exhibition, Celebrating New England. Fees: NEWS Members and Associate Members $20 one entry, $25 two entries, $30 three entries. Entry fees are collected at the time of entering images. Learn more.

Call to Artists The Cape Cod Art Center seeks submissions for their Summer National 2026. Open to all emerging & established artists, photographers and sculptors. No crafts or commercial prints will be accepted. Any subject matter is considered. Cash awards given to Best of Show, First Place, Second Place and Third Place in all mediums with five or more in a category. A special award for Best Landscape will also be awarded. Call for Art/Projects FIGMENT Boston returns to the Mystic Riverside location in Somerville this summer. FIGMENT is a free, participatory arts festival that invites people of all ages to play, engage, and make. This event blurs the line between creator and audience, artist and non-artist. Everything that you see at FIGMENT is born from a simple desire to share imagination with each other and the community. Learn more about participating in Figment Boston and then apply.

Watertown Artists The 2026 Watertown Arts Market is returning to Arsenal Park on August 8th from 12-5pm. Registration is open to local Watertown artists, cultural organizations, and arts-based businesses. If you do not have a Watertown address but have a strong connection to the Watertown community, please email watertownartsmarket@gmail.com before registering. Participation in a prior year does not guarantee a spot for 2026. Learn more and register.

Light Work Artist-in-Residence Program The nonprofit photography organization Light Work invites 12–15 artists to Syracuse, New York, to devote one month to creative projects every year. The residency includes a $5,000 stipend, a furnished artist apartment, 24-hour access to facilities, staff support, and more. The application fee is $10. Learn more.

Call to Artists The Plymouth Center for the Arts invites artists to submit their work to their non-juried show Ebb & Flow (July 8 – August 9, 2026). Artists are encouraged to submit their original artwork in the following categories: painting, drawing, printmaking, pastel, mixed-media, fine crafts, sculpture, photography and digital art. Fees: $15 for first entry, $10 for second entry. (2 max per artist). Online registration runs from June 3 – July 1, 2026 Learn more.
