Visual Artists The Cape Cod Conservatory Barnstable campus would like work with artists who want to present their work on an exclusive basis at a venue with substantial traffic. Shows have ranged from thematic to mixed media. The exhibitions generally are hung for 30-60 days and the Conservatory hosts an opening reception including music and refreshments. To learn more about the Art and Harmony program, contact the Executive Director Kevin Howard at 508-362-2772.

Call For Proposals FRAME 301, Montserrat College of Art is looking for installation artists located in the greater Boston area. They seek site-specific work to be exhibited monthly in its alternative, street-side gallery window, located in downtown Beverly, MA. Frame 301 hosts a variety of artistic mediums and motives that strive to connect to the innovative and energetic Beverly and Montserrat communities. Proposals must include artist’s written concept, visual examples of how the artist intends to use the space, and a resume with complete contact information. Be sure to read their blog. Playwrights Massachusetts playwrights are invited to submit to the Provincetown Theater Company’s Winter Reading Series of original work. Plays may be collections of short plays running approximately an hour or full-length plays no longer than 90 minutes. Plays may not have been previously staged and playwrights must be involved in the production of the reading. The Winter Reading Series will take place on Wednesday evenings beginning January 26 and running for 10 weeks, through March 30. Ten plays or collections of plays will be selected. Photography Soho Photo small works competition. The finished print size cannot be larger than 6 inches in each direction. Mattes and frames cannot exceed 12 inches in each direction. The juror is Richard Klein, the Exhibitions Director of The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art in Ridgefield, CT.

Short Stories Writer’s Digest 11th Annual Short Short Story Competition. Entries must be 1,500 words or less.
Deadline: December 1, 2010

Call to Artists The Tallahassee International is a juried competition from Florida State University’s Museum of Fine Arts. Open to artists over 18 years old. All media eligible for consideration. Only one entry per person. Juried by a panel of FSU College of Visual Arts faculty. The exhibition is currently scheduled for August 21-September 24, 2011.
