Poets The American Poetry Review’s Honickman First Book Prize of $3,000 and publication by American Poetry Review is given annually for a first poetry book. The winning book is distributed by Copper Canyon Press through Consortium. Fanny Howe will judge. Submit a manuscript of at least 48 pages. Learn more.

Visual Artists and Writers Residency Applications are now being accepted for 360 XOCHI QUETZAL, a free artist residency in December/January 2013. The residency is located in Chapala, Mexico on the shores of the largest lake in Mexico. Learn more.

Call for Art  UFORGE Gallery has announced a call for their exhibition Miniatures 2.0. Artists may submit a miniature 2D (drawing, painting, photography or graphic) no larger than 3″ x 3″ or 3D (sculpture) no larger than 3″ x 3″ x 3″. Learn more.

Exhibition Proposals The French Cultural Center in Boston is currently accepting exhibition proposals from Francophone and Francophile visual artists for their Summer & Fall 2013 month long exhibitions. Proposals for individual and small group exhibitions are accepted.. Exhibition proposals must articulate central idea linked to a Francophone culture or French culture. This idea must be expressed in a brief artist’s statement. The show can include works in a single medium or several mediums, including painting, drawing, and photography. Learn more.

Films/Videos and Scripts The SURGE Film Festival ONLY accepts films/videos and scripts that are directly, indirectly, literally, or symbolically related to love and/or civil disobedience and/or creating a better world. Learn more.

Music Ensemble International Exchange Program American Voices, in partnership with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, is now accepting ensemble applications for the American Music Abroad 2013-2014 touring season. Hip Hop, Rock & Roll, Jazz, Country, and other American roots music including but not limited to Native American, Latin, Afro-Caribbean, Blues, Bluegrass, Cajun, Gospel and Zydeco are invited to apply for this international exchange program. Deadline: January 18, 2013 (5pm PST)
