Call to Artists The Dedham Square Artist Guild has extended its submission deadline for entries to their exhibition Take Me Out to The Ball Game. The show will consist of work reflecting a baseball theme. Artists are asked to create something that evokes what baseball means to them. Learn more.

Playwrights The New England Theatre Conference is sponsoring two award programs for playwrights: The John Gassner Memorial Playwriting Award for new full-length plays, and the Aurand Harris Memorial Playwriting Award for new full-length plays for young audiences. Both awards offer two cash awards: $1,000 for first prize; $500 for second prize. Submit full-length scripts; no musicals. Scripts must not have been published, professionally produced, or be under option for publication or professional production. Learn more.

Writing Fellowship for New Parents Pen Parentis offers a prize of $1,000, annually, to a fiction writer who is the parent of a child under the age of 10. The winner also receives an invitation to give a reading in New York City. Submit a story of up to 1,200 words with a $25 entry fee. Learn more.

Call to Artists The Laboratory, ongoing experiment in DIY Investigative ART happenings, has announced a call for art with the theme of experimentation. The exhibition will take place on June 8, 2013 during Easthampton Art Walk. Laboratory Version 1 is housed in the defunct dye laboratory of an old textile mill in revived Easthampton, Massachusetts. Performance, Installation, Collections, 2D and 3D work accepted. Learn more.

Residency in Italy The Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Residency offers two to four week residencies in the Arts & Literary Arts, at the Bellagio Center in Northern Italy. The Foundation seeks applications from outstanding creative artists at all career stages with a record of significant achievement in their fields. Videographers, filmmakers, novelists, playwrights, poets, visual artists, and artists in performance art and multimedia from any country are welcome to apply. Projects in all fields are welcome, but there is an interest in projects that are inspired by or relates to global or social issues. Learn more.
Deadline: May 1, 2013 for a possible residency between February 18, 2014 to July 31, 2014

Public Media Art The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority and Boston Cyberarts are looking for media art for display on the 80-foot-tall Marquee at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. The Marquee offers more than 3,000 square feet of display area on 7 screens, providing full-motion video capability. Learn more. Questions, email info@bostoncyberarts.org.
