Arts and Crafts Vendors The Downtown Boston BID’s 2012 Open Markets, to be hosted in Downtown Crossing each Wednesday and Friday from May 2 through October 26, are still accepting applications. The deadline has been extended. Learn more.

Screenwriters Entries are now being accepted for the Women in Film & Video/New England’s (WIFV/NE) Tenth Annual Screenwriting Competition, sponsored by Su-City Pictures, Inktip, Final Draft, and Lesley University. Entries must be authored or co-authored by a woman and/or feature a woman or women in prominent roles. Learn more.

Visual Artists The Cambridge Art Association is now accepting entries for their 11th National Prize Show. All mediums accepted and there are no size requirements. Work must have been made within the past three years and not previously shown at CAA galleries. This year’s juror is Clara Kim, Senior Curator of the Visual Arts, Walker Art Center. Learn more.

Works on Paper, Photography Entries are now being accepted by the FOLEYgallery in NY for their Summer Show Project. The exhibition will feature one artist that works with photography and one artist that makes works on paper. Learn more.

Visual Art Exhibition Proposals The Newton Free Library is currently seeking artists to submit exhibition proposals for the January-June 2013 season. Learn more.
Deadline: May 25, 2012 (noon)

Filmmakers Glovebox is now accepting entries for their 2012 Short Film and Animation Festival. The festival will take place Saturday August 4th, 2012 – 2 pm at the Somerville Theatre in Davis Square, Somerville, MA. Films can not exceed 25 minutes total. Learn more.

Visual Artists Entries are now being accepted for the Jonathan Ferrara Gallery, New Orleans 16th Annual No Dead Artists: National Juried Exhibition. Jurors are Eric Shiner, Director of the Andy Warhol Museum; Amanda Coulson, Director of the National Art Gallery of the Bahamas and Founder of the Volta Fair (Basel Switzerland and New York), and collector Thomas Coleman. Artists who can engage youth through the arts Raw Art Works in Lynn, MA is seeks proposals for Guest Artists (paid) to present art workshops, groups, and experiences for middle school and high school youth in summer programming. Artists should submit resume, cover letter, references, proposal for 2-6 section project, and work sample. Learn more.
