Call for Artists The New Hampshire Art Association (NHAA) invites you to enter The 37th Annual Omer T. Lassonde Open Juried Exhibition. Located at the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery in downtown Portsmouth, NH, this exhibit is one of NHAA’s most prestigious exhibits of the year with over $2000 awarded in prizes. It is held annually in honor of Omer T. Lassonde, acclaimed painter and founding member of the NHAA. The juror is Theresa Choi, assistant curator at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art. Emerging Sculptor Grant The Augusta Savage Grant is an unrestricted prize of $2,500 awarded annually for Excellence in Sculpture. The National Sculpture Society is presenting a $2,500 grant to be awarded to a talented emerging sculptor who self-identifies as Black or African American. A racially diverse jury of three sculptors and/or curators, including at least two of whom are Black or African American, will review applications and select one winner. Applicants must be citizens of or residents in the United States with a social security number. Works inspired by nature are preferred. Learn more.

Emerging Artist Residency Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft offers the Emerging Artist Residency, which provides two emerging artists with studio space, time, and facilities to pursue their artistic goals from September 2023-May 2024. Pocosin Arts primarily accepts applications for metalsmithing, ceramics, or woodwork for nine-month residencies. Proposals from other disciplines are also considered, provided the applicant can fulfill our teaching requirement and provide their own equipment. The residency is open to U.S. citizens and residents are selected through a competitive review process. Artists apply in their primary studio area, and the program includes access to all studios. Residents also receive free housing and utilities, shared kitchen and laundry facilities, and a personal workspace. Residents are paid to teach youth and adult community classes and provide occasional assistance on campus. Learn more.

Fund for Performance Art The Franklin Furnace Fund for Performance Art is supported by Jerome Foundation, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and biennially by the SHS Foundation in honor of Ruth Hardinger. Fund grants range between $2,000 and $10,000 based on the peer review panel allocation of funding received by Franklin Furnace. Artists from all areas of the world are encouraged to apply; however, artists selected by the panel are expected to present their work in New York City. Full-time students are ineligible. Learn more.

Fellowship for Artists Working with Jewish Themes and in Jewish Arts Spaces The Mandel Cultural Leadership Program is a new fellowship for artists and producers who aim to reimagine Jewish life and galvanize action on a range of social issues through their creative work. The two-year fellowship includes an educational program, support from an adviser, and a $40k stipend to advance a project. Eligible candidates include artists across disciplines and a range of cultural producers, including but not limited to journalists, curators, chefs, comedians, video game world builders, cultural organizers and culture bearers. Artist Capacity Building Grants Applications are currently being accepted for the Massachusetts Statewide Capacity-Building Grant. 12-14 Artists will each receive $3,000 Grants. MASS MoCA’s Assets for Artists program is offering their first statewide Massachusetts Capacity-Building Grant since 2021. Applicants must live or work in Massachusetts and currently self-identify as one of the following: BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color), an active caretaker of a child or adult, an immigrant, veteran, LGBTQIA+, formerly incarcerated, or living with a disability or housing insecurity. Anonymous Was A Woman Environmental Art Grants The AWAW EAG will support environmental art projects that inspire thought, action, and ethical engagement. Projects should not only point at problems, but aim to engage an environmental issue at some scale. Proposals should illustrate thorough consideration of a project’s ecological and social ethics. Projects that explore interdependence, relationships, and systems through Indigenous and ancestral practices are encouraged to apply. Learn more.
