Of Note: On Saturday, September 6, 7-9pm, Luminarium Dance Company will debut a one-night-only evening of dance, art, and 20-foot high video projections held at the historic water tower of Arlington Heights (Arlington MA). Free and open to all ages.
Poetry, Prose A prize of $1,000 and publication in Wag’s Revue is given twice yearly for a poem or group of poems, a short story, or an essay. The editors will judge. Using the online submission system, submit up to 10 pages of poetry or up to 10,000 words of prose. Learn more.

Craft Artists Entries are now being accepted for the 28th annual Materials: Hard & Soft, a national contemporary craft competition and exhibition. Ana M. Lopez, a metalsmith, educator and decorative arts scholar, will jury this year’s entries and award $5,000 in prize money. Learn more.

Call to Artists Sandbox is teaming up with COOL Lowell to have a Makers Pitch Contest for artists who makes any type of product. They are welcoming artists from all around the Commonwealth to apply for the chance at pitching their product for thousands of dollars & selling to 100+ people at their September 25th event. Dancers Registration is now open for the 9th Annual Boston Dance Alliance’s open call audition which will take place on September 14, 2014 from 11am – 5pm. Call for Artists The Hadassah-Brandeis Institute at Brandeis University is accepting applications for the Spring 2015 Artist-in-Residence. HBI seeks artists whose work relates to Jewish gender issues. The opportunity provides studio space, $3000 stipend and solo exhibition at the Kniznick Gallery at the Women’s Studies Research Center.
