Artist Opportunities Shining Brightly

MASS MoCA’s Puerto Rico Artist Fellowship Program Artists of all disciplines whose primary residence is Puerto Rico are welcome to apply to MASS MoCA’s fellowship program, which comes with $800 travel stipend, a $100 per week food stipend, and four weeks of access to private studio and nearby housing. Joshua Tree Highlands Residency Applications are currently being accepted for the Joshua Tree Highlands Residency at the Joshua Tree National Park, California. This residency fosters creativity through opportunities for exploring, experimenting, quiet reflection, engagement and cross-cultural exchange with the vibrant local artist community. Artists are supported with a $1,000 stipend, plus living accommodations and studio space. Learn more.

Artist Residencies Applications are currently available for three artist and two writers residencies in the Peaked Hill Trust, an area in the Cape Cod National Seashore. One of the residencies is specifically for emerging artists of color. Learn more about their artists’ and writers residency program.

Large-Scale, Outdoor Sculptures SculptureNow is accepting applications from established and emerging sculptors for its twenty-second consecutive, juried, annual exhibition of large-scale, outdoor sculptures. The show will be presented for the eighth year at The Mount, Edith Wharton’s Home, a historic site in Lenox, MA, from June 1 to October 31, 2020. A $1,000 honorarium will be provided for each artist in the exhibition. Existing and proposed sculptures may be submitted for consideration. There is no exhibition theme and no application fee. Choreography, Fiction/Creative Nonfiction, Painting Fellowships  The Mass Cultural Council is currently accepting fellowship applications from Massachusetts artists in the following categories:  Choreography, Fiction/Creative Nonfiction, and Painting. The Artist Fellowships are $15,000 each and Finalist awards are $1,500. Read the guidelines and apply.

Call to Sculptors ArtsWorcester invites submissions of sculpture that interact with ideas of weight and/or weightlessness, both conceptually and materially. Sculpture in any media is eligible for consideration. Artists may submit up to two works. Lisa Crossman, PhD, Curator at the Fitchburg Art Museum, will serve as juror. Five hundred dollars in prizes will also be awarded, and winners will be announced at the opening. Learn more.
