Artist Residency Eyebeam Artist Residencies will grant a minimum of $4,000 to each selected residency project but will consider requests for additional project-based funding up to an additional $10,000 maximum (to be awarded in stages based on mutually agreed on milestones).

Exhibition Proposals Queens College Art Center in Flushing, NY, is currently accepting solo and collaborative exhibitions that demonstrate contemporary concepts of statistics and/or residency. Submit via email to artcenter@qc.cuny.edu up to ten jpegs or five minutes on DVD, image list, a cv for every member of collaborative and no more than 1,000 word exhibition proposal. You will only be contacted if your proposal has been chosen. Jpegs must be labeled as such: lastname_numberoforder.jpeg If applying as a group, please use groupname_numberoforder.jpg. Please label DVDs by artist name and proposal title.

Playwrights The Warner Theatre International Playwrights’ Festival (Torrington, CT) is seeking one-act plays between 12-40 pages long. Scripts must be written in English and submitted electronically in standard Samuel French playwriting format. Do not include any playwright identification on script; in body of e-mail include script title and playwright’s name and contact information. No synopses or resumes. One submission per playwright. Film, Video, Media Art Gender Reel is seeking submission of film, video, and media art works that provide visibility to the experiences of gender non-conforming, gender variant and transgender people. Learn more. Questions, contact genderreelfest@gmail.com.

Call for Art The City of Pittsfield’s Office of Cultural Development is now accepting submissions from all artists for a juried show called Islam Contemporary, to be held August 2-31, 2013 in Pittsfield at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts and Whitney Center for the Arts. They are seeking contemporary work that explores or incorporates Muslim art, culture, history, society and day-to-day life. They also welcome suggestions for potential writers, performers, and musicians on the subject of contemporary perspectives on Islam. Learn more.

Furniture Artists Applications are now being accepted for the John D. Mineck Furniture Fellowship, a $25,000 award. The fellowship has been designed to help support a talented furniture artist who is looking to transition to independence, make a significant transition in their career, fulfill an apprenticeship or further develop their skills. The John D. Mineck Furniture Fellowship is administered by The Society of Arts and Crafts. Learn more.

Call for Art Submissions are now being accepted for SCIENCE INSPIRES ART: THE COSMOS, the 15th, international, competition-exhibition to be held at the New York Hall of Science, August 31, 2013 – March 2, 2014. Seeking original art [executed in any visual media and documented via stunning images] relates to astronomy (including astrophysics, astrochemistry, astrobiology, astrogeology), questions of cosmology, extra-terrestrials, or the nature of matter and/or time in relation to universal laws.
