Filmmakers The Bluestocking Film Series (Spring, 2015, Portland, ME) is seeking short films (30 minutes or shorter) that pass the Bechdel Test for Women in Movies (film must include 2 or more female characters with names who talk to each other about something other than a man). Learn more.

Call for Artists The Nave Gallery in Somerville, MA, invites artists to participate in the curated exhibition, HackCycle. HackCycle celebrates recycled art of the 21st century. Looking for submissions from individuals that employ experimentation and serendipity using today’s technological debris and/or innovative techniques as part of their creative process. Learn more.

Call to Artists The Post Office Gallery in North Truro, MA, invites visual artists to participate in their Annual Juried Exhibits for 2015. Your interpretation of the theme(s) is requested. All media will be considered. You may submit up to three high resolution images of your work for each show. Learn more.

Artist Residencies The Headlands Center for the Arts in California is offering 4-10-week residencies. Open to artists working in all media (visual, literary, performance, film and video, audio, music, digital media, and interdisciplinary art), with the goal of providing a supportive working environment for experimentation, reflection, and growth. All residencies are fully sponsored, and some stipends of $500 per month are available (artists may apply for stipend when applying for residency; availability of stipends depends on funding and sponsorship secured each year). Offers both live-in and live-out residencies. Live-in artists are provided with a studio, shared housing, and 5 meals a week. Live-out artists are provided with a studio and dinner twice a week. Call for Touchable Sculpture Entries are now being accepted for the juried sculpture exhibition Please Touch! at the Monmouth Museum, featuring wall and free standing sculpture that can be touched by visitors. This exhibition is intended to help visually-impaired people overcome the barrier they experience at most museums by allowing everyone to experience art by touching. Sighted people will also learn to experience art without relying on their eyesight in addition to a visual artistic experience. Learn more.

Furniture Artists Fellowship Applications are now being accepted for the 2015 John D. Mineck Furniture Fellowship award of $25,000  given annually to support a talented young-in-career furniture artist in succeeding on their journey as a craftsperson. A successful applicant will be a contemporary and functional artist living and working in the Northeast committed to growing as a maker and establishing a career in furniture. This year, the 2015 Fellow will join previous recipients of this prestigious award in a special exhibition at the Society of Arts and Crafts. Learn more.

Call to Artists ArcWorks in Peabody, MA, invites artists from Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire to submit works for consideration to their juried exhibit Dog Days of Summer. Artists may submit 2D and 3D media. Learn more.

Dance Residency The Boston Center for the Arts is currently accepting applications for the 2015-2016 season of the Dance Residency at the BCA. Selected artists will be considered in residency throughout the year with a specific residency studio session that will last for four to five weeks. Playwrights The American Playwriting Foundation’s Relentless Award, established in honor of Philip Seymour Hoffman, is a $45,000 annual cash prize in American theater awarded to a playwright in recognition of a new play. They are looking for plays that are challenging, that exhibit fearlessness, that are not mainstream,  that exude passion, and that are relentlessly truthful. They encourage submissions by first time playwrights, women and playwrights of color. Learn more.
