Artists Funding Opportunity Dave Brown Projects is currently accepting applications for their 8th Semiannual competition. $10,000 USD (1 artist will receive $5,000 USD and 5 artists will each receive $1,000 USD). In addition to the cash prizes listed above; Dave Brown Projects will be buying works of art from artists as submissions are received. Jurors: Cindy Buckner, Associate Curator, Grand Rapids Art Museum; Al Miner, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Margot Norton, Assistant Curator, New Museum, New York. Playwrights Applications Now Open for the 17th Annual Soho Rep. Writer/Director Lab. The Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab was founded in 1998 to explore and develop the work of a new generation of theater artists and to foster new collaborations between writers and directors in the beginning stages of the creative process. Poetry The Boston Review Poetry Contest offers a $1,500 prize and publication in Boston Review for a poem or group of poems. Submit up to five poems (10 pages max). Major Jackson will judge. $20 fee includes three issues of Boston Review, and all entries considered for publication. Learn more.

Call for Entries Submissions are now being accepted for the American University Museum at Katzen Arts Center’s exhibition Readymade@100. The show aims to expand on Duchamp’s original idea. Learn more.

Fiction The Salamander Fiction Prize offers a $1,500 prize and publication in Salamander for a short story. Submit a story of up to 35 pages with $15 fee. Jennifer Haigh will judge. All entries considered for publication. Learn more.

Plays The New Works of Merit Playwriting Contest seeks play scripts of “social significance;” full-lengths, one-acts, short plays, and children’s plays. $300 prize. $25 fee ($45 for critique). Learn more.

Composers The American Guild of Organists sponsors two awards for composers, the AGO/ECS Publishing Award in Choral Composition and the AGO/Marilyn Mason Award in Organ Composition. Both include $2000 prizes and premier performances. Learn more.

Craft Artists The Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton is seeking submissions for their 2014 Biennial Members Exhibition. They invite their member artists to submit work in most media. Members may submit up to 3 images. Learn more.

Exhibition Proposals The Mill Arts Project is an educational opportunity for first-time and experienced curators to develop their marketing and curating abilities by putting on an exhibit or an event for one to two months. While curators bring a vision or creative idea, ECA+ and Eastworks assists by providing a space, assisting with marketing for the exhibition or event, and project guidance. Learn more.
