Desert Writers The Ellen Meloy Fund Desert Writers Award is a prize of $3,000, given to a creative nonfiction writer who uses the desert landscape, ecosystem, geography, history, and/or experience as the foundation and inspiration for their literary project. Call to Artists Build Peace in currently accepting proposals for work to coincide with their second Build Peace conference will take place on April 25 and 26, 2015 in Nicosia, Cyprus. The following media are accepted: visual 2D and 3D, sculpture, mixed media, film, new media, theatrical and performance, of individual artists or collaborative works. Works can be thematic or site-specific. Their venues include interior and exterior spaces and small public plazas directly abutting the UN checkpoint crossing between North and South Nicosia at Ledras Street / Locmaji.
