Webinars with Arts Administrators Arts Administration Association New England is holding a series of “Sip and Chat” webinars with arts administrators from the region. The next discussion is April 29, 2021, 4 PM, featuring Emily Ruddock, Executive Director, MASSCreative and Randy Cohen, Vice President of Research, American for the Arts.

Call to Artists The Northampton Arts Council is looking for artists to submit work for consideration for the Traffic Light Utility Box Mural Program. The Traffic Light Utility Box Mural Program is designed to encourage community pride and beautify the streets of Northampton, Massachusetts. Murals will be installed in public places and must be suitable for viewing by all ages. The Commission anticipates selecting artwork for up to 7 utility boxes and The Northampton Arts Council will fund $350 per utility box, inclusive of all artist’s fees, paints and materials. Arts Writers Grant The Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant, administered by Creative Capital, supports emerging and established writers who write about contemporary visual art. Ranging from $15,000 to $50,000 in three categories—articles, books, and short-form writing—the grants support a wide variety of projects, from short reviews for magazines and newspapers to in-depth scholarly studies. Gallery Exhibition Proposals Kingston Gallery in Boston, MA, is currently accepting proposals for their Center Gallery. For individual artists or groups working in any media who may be interested in mounting month-long shows, Kingston’s Center Gallery is available to rent for a monthly fee of $750. The Center Gallery is approximately 100 square feet, totaling 30 linear feet of wall space. Interested artists should visit the Center Gallery space before applying for an exhibition. Learn more.

Artist-in-Residence Program Gallery 263 in Cambridge, MA, invites artists of all media and experience levels to apply for their summer 2021 Gregor Family Artist-in-Residence program. The residency is a non-live-in opportunity, and will be awarded to one artist who will have sole use of their 700-square foot space and amenities during their individual residency. Gallery 263 will award a $250 stipend to the selected artist. The residency will culminate in a two-week solo showcase. Learn more.

Call for Video and Digital Media Art Fountain Street gallery in Boston has launched “The Sidewalk Video Gallery,” a public viewing gallery for video and other digital media art. Exhibitions of short, silent, experimental work will be displayed on two 50? monitors facing out from gallery windows at sidewalk level. The programming is designed to promote diversity and include a broad array of artists, styles, thematic content, and levels of experience. The Sidewalk Video Gallery will accept artwork submissions, as well as curatorial and project proposals, on a rolling basis. The Sidewalk Video Gallery is viewable 24/7 and the parking area in front of the gallery, accessed at 365 Albany Street, Boston, offers free, short-term parking, making it easy for viewers to stop by.
