Musicians Music to Life’s online incubator program, the Musician Changemaker Accelerator (MCA) Academy (starting August 12) is accepting applications. Ten competitively selected socially conscious musicians from around the country will delve into the 6.5-month social change business accelerator starting August 12 and ending February 7, 2025. In the MCA Academy, participants come away with a concrete plan for their community change idea, local partner connections, program development skills, and funding to execute their projects. Participating musicians receive cash and services worth $7500. Candidates will be selected based on their musical talent and their enterprising idea for a music-driven social change program in their community. Learn more.

Craft Innovation Jumpstarter Program The goal of the Society’s Craft Innovation Jumpstarter Program is to financially support craft artists who are pursuing ideas in their studio practice that represent something new for them. When craft artists are ready to bring their solutions and innovations to the next stage, however, they often lack the necessary funds to make investments toward their new direction. The goal of the Society of Arts + Crafts is to assist artists to bridge this gap. Learn more.

Visual Artist Award The biennial Prilla Smith Brackett Award honors an outstanding female-identifying visual artist based in the Greater Boston area. Funded by Prilla Smith Brackett (Wellesley Class of 1964) and administered by the Davis Museum at Wellesley College, the Brackett Award will be given to the artist whose work demonstrates extraordinary artistic vision, talent, and skill. Recipients receive a $15,000 cash award to be used at the artist’s discretion, including to assist in career advancement through support for travel, research, early project development, project completion, studio costs, childcare costs, catalogue production, etc. Learn more.

Residencies at the Studios as MASS MoCA Applications are currently being accepted for the The 2025 Residencies at the Studios as MASS MoCA. The residencies are for two and four weeks from January-June 2025. They welcome applications from visual artists and writers at all career stages, and from all walks of life! Applications are available in English and Spanish. There are a lot of Fellowship opportunities for this open call including General Fellowships open to all applicants as well as financial aid available. Learn more.

Visual Artists and Writers Residency The Vermont Studio Center is accepting applications for residencies from November 2024 to April 2025. Vermont Studio Center (VSC) welcomes visual artists and writers for 2-, 3- and 4-week residencies to an inclusive, international community, honoring creative work as the communication of spirit through form. Nestled in the Green Mountain of Vermont, VSC provides private lodging, studios, fresh daily meals, and a vibrant visiting artists and writers program. Each residency welcomes 30 artists and writers to our Johnson, Vermont campus. All residents receive partial fellowships while 35% receive full fellowships. Boston Artadia Awards The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure and recognition to artists. The awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose. Boston application opens Aug 15 – Sept 15, 2024. Applicants must be a contemporary visual artist, making artwork for presentation in a contemporary art context: museum, galleries, arts non-profit, the public art realm, etc. Artadia does not fund filmmakers making films for distribution in cinematic venues, or those working in choreography presented outside of a contemporary art context. The Robert Giard Grant for Emerging LGBTQ+ Photographers Queer|Art’s first international grant provides an award of $10,000 for the winner and $1,250 for distinguished finalists, to support the creation of new work by emerging LGBTQ+ photographers. Named in honor of photographer Robert Giard (1939-2002), a portrait, landscape, and figure photographer whose work focused on LGBTQ+ lives and issues, the grant focuses on supporting emerging LGBTQ+ photographers whose projects address issues of sexuality, gender, or LGBTQ+ identity. Cover Art Contest Entries are currently being accepted for the Arlington Community Education Cover Art Contest. Local artists are invited to submit up to four pieces for Arlington Community Education’s annual Cover Art Contest. Three winners will receive $250 and exposure to an audience of more than 50,000 in exchange for use of their artwork. All mediums are welcome. Open to artists high-school-aged and up.  Learn more.

2024 Request for Qualifications: Community Mural Program NOW Art is actively seeking artists nationwide to design unique and original mural compositions for community-focused programs. These public facing projects are in partnership with corporations. Each mural is delivered as digital compositions or scanned high-resolution traditionally created artwork files. Approved artwork images will be printed on high quality vinyl, enlarged and adhered professionally in site specific locations. Learn more.
