Creative Sector Day at the State House On April 30th from 10 AM – 3 PM, members of the arts and cultural community from across the Commonwealth will join together at the State House to celebrate the contributions of artists, cultural organizations, creative businesses and arts workers to Massachusetts. Artist Residencies Assets for Artists Studio Residencies at MASS MoCA are currently accepting applications. Applications for two- and four-week residencies from January – June 2026 are due in one month on May 1st. Applications are available in English and Spanish. Our Fellowship opportunities for this open call include: General Fellowships, Puerto Rico Artist Fellowship, University Fellowships. In addition to our full fellowships, we also offer robust, partial financial aid to all attendees who need it. Youth Expression Contest Massachusetts Association for Mental Health (MAMH) is hosting the Mental Health Matters: Youth Expression Contest open to all middle and high school students grades 6-12. This year’s prompt: Use abstract forms and ideas (plus color!) to express different emotions and the journey toward mental well-being. Categories include: audio/visual: informational video or song (2 min. max), artistic still: painting, drawing or digital art (with short description) and creative writing: essay or poetry (250 word max). Individuals or teams are eligible to participate and submit original work (no AI submissions accepted). Collective Futures Fund Applications are now open for the 2025 Collective Futures Fund (CFF) grant cycle. As a Regional Regranting Program of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts administered by the Tufts University Art Galleries. Our Sustaining Practice tier is generously supported by an anonymous donor. CFF directly supports visual artists in producing collaborative and public projects that engage in risk-taking and experimentation, through grants between $2,500 and $7,500. Please encourage artists in your community to apply. The grant is available in three tiers: Sustaining Practice: Grants offered at $2,500 each geared toward emerging individual artists and collaborators who need critical support for research, to develop new projects and future ideas, and sustain themselves in the process. New Projects: $7,500 for the creation and public presentation of new projects by visual artists, curators, or collectives. Boston Dancemakers Residency Considered Boston’s most comprehensive dance-focused residency, the Boston Dancemakers Residency is designed to support new work from conception to performance.
