Call for Sculptors Lena Park Community Development Corporation in Dorchester, MA is seeking resumes and photos of work from sculptors who have completed large outdoor installations. The theme of their project is “21st century technology with a focus on steam (science, technology, engineering, art and math). The project site is in Mattapan, MA. The selected artist will use a team of local teens to create the concept and complete the work, which will take place in  2017/18. The selected artist will work with a landscape architect and a small committee of staff, board and residents, as well as the teens. Artist fee: maximum of $12,000 (exclusive of materials). Dance Touring Grants The National Dance Project Touring Awards are currently accepting applications. NDP Touring Awards support U.S. tours of dance works by national and international artists with up to $35,000 in subsidy reserved for each project’s tour through NDP Presentation Grants. National and international choreographers and companies with a project premiering before June 1, 2017 and a planned U.S. tour during the NDP touring period of June 1, 2017-November 30, 2018 are eligible to apply. Photographers The Center for Fine Art Photography is currently accepting entries for their open themed Portfolio ShowCase 10. One artist will be selected to receive the $3,000 ShowCase Award and a solo exhibition at C4FAP. Ten photographers will be chosen to have their twelve-image portfolios published in the Center’s Portfolio ShowCase eBook. There will be an accompanying online exhibition with links to artist’s websites. In addition, two selected images from each artist will be exhibited at The Center for Fine Art Photography in the Portfolio ShowCase Group Exhibition. Learn more.

Exhibition Proposals The Newton Free Library presents monthly shows of two-dimensional works by New England area artists in their two exhibiting spaces, the Gallery and Main Hall. They are a state-of-the-art facility visited by more than 15,000 people weekly. The Library Art Committee meets twice each year to select shows for the following year. Applications are now being accepted for exhibits for the July-December 2017 time period. Learn more.

Artist Grants The Puffin Foundation provides grants to artists and art organizations who are often excluded from mainstream opportunities due to their race, gender, or social philosophy.  Fine Arts and Video/Film must be the primary category of the project. The Fine Arts category includes a broad range of creative endeavors such as painting, drawing, weaving, crafts, collage and sculpture. Photograph and digital media projects should not be submitted since they will be considered in 2018. They will not consider Fine Arts/artwork proposals intended to supplement a theater or music work since those are disciplines they fund in even years. Proposals for radio based projects may be submitted under the Video/Film category. Projects in other disciplines will not be considered. Learn more.

Video and Film Sesame Studios YouTube Channel is looking for fresh creative talent to dazzle and delight preschoolers. Must be 18 years or older and be submitting original content. Learn more.

Playwrights MultiStages, a multicultural, multidisciplinary theatre company located in New York City, is seeking original, unproduced, high quality full-length multidisciplinary plays by established and emerging writers for its eighth New Works Contest. The Contest Winner will receive a Workshop Staged Reading with professional actors or a Fully-Staged Production at a reputable theatre in New York City under an AEA approved code. The Finalists will receive a Staged Reading with professional actors in the New Works Festival. Learn more.
