Call for Visual Artists Galatea Fine Art located in the SOWA district of Boston’s South End, is expanding and screening for new members. If you are interested in consideration, contact 617-542-1500 or galateafinearts@yahoo.com.

Short Story Writers The literary magazine Glimmer Train is accepting fiction of up to 20,000 words for its September Fiction Open. This competition is held quarterly and is open to all writers. No theme restrictions.
Deadline: September 30, 2011

Call to Artists The Apollinaire Gallery is seeking submissions for its upcoming show: Bump In The Night: Our Deepest Fears to run in concert with it’s fall production of Allison Moore’s Slasher. They are looking for works inspired by the fear provoking aspects of every day living – from the banal to the outrageous. The Gallery is located in the lobby of the Chelsea Theatre Works, and a reception will be held in the gallery following each performance of Slasher. The show will run October 14 – November 5. Submit 5 – 10 images of your work to Vincent@apollinairetheatre.com. All submissions should include a resume or bio and a brief description of the work. Questions: 617-887-2336.

Craft Artists Entries are now being accepted for the 2012 Society of Arts and Crafts Artist Awards. Initiated in 1994, the Artist Awards encourage and support the work of New England craft artists who demonstrate a mastery of their media and create original and innovative work. Learn More.

Arts Administrators The Maine Arts Commission has an opening for an Arts in Education associate in Augusta, Maine. Duties of the Arts in Education associate include implementing projects statewide, and providing professional development opportunities and technical assistance to arts educators, teaching artists, arts organizations and others. Public Art Proposals are now being accepted for riverscaping/alles am fluss: international and northeastern US public realm public art/design-build competition on the Connecticut River in Massachusetts. Learn More. Questions: tlong@hampshire.edu or angela@riverscaping.org.
